MY wife was living there when i bought her. As far as american cities go, i liked it, as you can see all the mountains that surround it (apart from the ocean side).

As for vegans, it was brilliant 10 years ago, and now its incredible!

We were last there couple years back and got to go to some of the newer places to eat.

Vegans are spoilt there, tho, if you need a change, portland is just down the raod, and thats a vegan mecca too.

Seattle is very Veg*n friendly. Lots of ethnic restaurants and veg places, too. We have a lot of athletic events here (Mariners (baseball), Seahawks (football), Storm (women's basketball)). It's bicycle friendly and a lot of places to walk. There's a lot of well educated people here, and a lot of institutions of higher learning (University of Washington, Seattle University, City University, along with extentions of Higher learning places (Eastern Washington Univeristy, Washington State University) and community colleges (Highline, Green River, South Seattle, Seattle Central, North Seattle, etc.) There's a lot of bookstores, both chain and independent, although Bailey/Coy books is shutting down *sob*
. There's also a lot of movie theatres here, as well, and, in February, the Seattle International Film Festival happens....Let's see...in the summertime Seafair goes on, with parades in different neighborhoods every week. In December there's Christmas ship parades, there's the lighting of the star on Macy's and the carousel in Westlake...Holy ootchclaw this is long. Let me know if there's anything more you want to know.

Seattle is awesome. It's liberal, very veg*n friendly, etc. All of western WA is pretty cool. And Portland is an awesome city too like Purp mentioned. If you ever decide to visit the area I'd be more than happy to show you around! Washington is a beautiful state. There's so many things to do outdoors. I lived in New Jersey for 4yrs after living most of my life here in Tacoma, and coming back to Western WA after NJ just took my breath away. I always took this state for granted. I never will again. Since I came back there are times like when I was driving down highway 16 back into Tacoma and it was a dry cloudless day for once (it does rain here quite a bit) and Mount Rainier was just majestic and you could see part of Tacoma's cityscape against the mountain... it made me cry from the beauty of it. I really don't ever want to move again. I would like to live in Texas for a few years just to experience it (my family is all from Texas), but I can't fathom spending the rest of my life anywhere else but Washington State unless I moved out of the country.
