Everything beanstew said, especially:

You can be having sex on a tube in a fairy suit in London and no one will notice. I've been on a tube with a woman screaming her head off at nobody and everyone just pretened she wasn't there.

I've never had a problem with luggage on the tube, just hold on to it. I've had a few people offer to carry it for me which I never trust, but that probally only happens if you're a weedy girl clearly struggling.

Oh and have a great time

Or they will just pretend to ignore you.

That reminds me of when I was at a vegan meet-up at a cafe and a couple were sitting next to us singing and then they basically started having sex with each other. (Beanstew - I can't remember if I was with you at the time and if you remember that. It was funny as we all just averted our eyes and carried on our conversation.

Most of the clubs are full of 16 year olds

Anyway, if you went for the Kensington hotel, most of the locals are American anyway
London is a true melting pot, it's a surprise to meet English people

Have a wonderful time!

I love this city and this country.

First impressions: world class city that has class. I was struck at its cleanliness. I was also pleasantly surprised at how diverse it is here. I mean I knew it would be diverse but I didn't expect it to be AS diverse as the US.

There seems to be no walking pattern though. Lol Walk to the left or right? The signs give different directions in different places. Lol

The biggest downside: being here made me realize how unfulfilled my dreams are, how far I've NOT gotten in life, and how unhappy I feel about it's current direction. Namely, I wish I could just decide to move here but I've not got the money to attend university here nor the background to find a job.

Really glad you're enjoying yourself! You couldn't have come at a better time! The Sun is out and everyone is happy and smiling

ETA: There is no walking pattern! You just walk
Except on the escalators where you stand on the right, walk on the left.

You all walk wherever the heck you want, in any direction. Some people are in a rush...others are dawdling, you all bump into each other, apologise & generally keep calm and carry on. Yes yes.

Glad you're enjoying yourself!

It really is the most diverse place ever. I agree with Yally, the majority of people are not English.

I really wan to live here.

I'm honestly going to put effort into trying to figure out how to do it. My best bet would be for school as I don't have any in-demand skills to offer the UK.

was it Americans who told you that? That really isn't what the British perception of Americans is! But I really wouldn't worry about Brits impression of Americans! Most people in Britain know people of lots of differet cultures, and even though there are cultural sterotypes about other countries, they are just that - stereotypes - they aren't taken seriously.

I'm glad London has impressed you so much!

It was, indeed, a Brit who said it.

Everyone was very nice and helpful and I'm honestly trying to figure out how I can move there.
Anyone wanna sponsor me?
