How do I find out if there are any? There's a restaurant that sells veggie burgers and wraps in grand rapids but what else?

If you can get to Ann Arbor there are lots of great places, including several vegetarian restaurants, one all vegan place, and tons of others that are very veg*n friendly.

-Jazzy Veggie is a new vegan deli type place on main street. It serves primarily fake meat based sandwiches. Everything I've tried there has been good although it can be a bit pricey for what it is.
-The Earthen Jar is a hole in the wall vegetarian Indian buffet. Everything that's vegan is labelled (probably 80-90% of the food). Their cookies are great too. We also have two non-veg indian places with lots of great vegetarian options (Madras Masala and Raja Rani—I prefer Madras Masala because they have dosas!)
-Seva is an all vegetarian sit down place, just around the corner from Earthen Jar. They're also a bit pricey and the food can be hit or miss but you can't go wrong with their tempeh burgers (best tempeh I've ever eaten) and sometimes it is nice to eat out in a slightly more formal place. If you go you must get the yam fries!
-Jerusalem Garden has great falafel. It's right next to the Earthen Jar.
-Chia Shang is a Chinese restaurant with a separate vegetarian menu, including tons of vegan options. It's great to be able to get Chinese without having to worry about animal broth slipping into your tofu!
-Silvio's Organic Pizza has vegan cheese and also a delicious tofu topping (much better than the fake cheese, in my opinion). They used to do slices and may still have them at lunch but if you go in there at dinner time they make you order a whole pizza (not necessarily a terrible thing but it's slower and more expensive than getting slices). They've got all sorts of great fresh veggies (many locally grown) that you can get as toppings. College Inn over in Ypsilanti also has vegan cheese. They're super cheap (I think a vegan pie there runs about 6 dollars) but less 'gourmet'.
-Big City Small World Bakery has some vegan baked goods (including the amazing vegan ding dong!)

Try HappyCow.com and you can search by city. Are you in GR? We just go back from vacation there (well, Holland). There's a neat place that's just opening: http://www.bartertowngr.com/. We didn't manage to eat there, as they were just doing soft openings while we were in town. We got some vegan cupcakes though, for my sister's wedding and I met several of the staff.

I don't know of many all veg places on the west side of MI, but there are loads of veg friendly ones. For GR, you can also try this list: http://vegangr.com/eat/. I'd highly highly recommend Marie Catrib's and San Chez (we've visited both several times). Gaia and Sammy's Pita were places I went to often when I lived in the area.

Some other ideas along the lakeshore:

Deelite in Grand Haven: http://www.harborrestaurants.com/deelite/

In Holland:
Good Earth Cafe: http://www.goodearthcafeofholland.com/menus.htm. Not a lot of choice, but plenty of bagels/salads and usually a vegan soup or chili.
Rice and Spice: ilovericeandspice.com/Menu.aspx. We went there with my folks and sister over vacation, and it was a bit of a mixed bag. The entrees were decent and/or good, but the appetizers/sides were well, not.
