I'm a new vegetarian and while doing research I came across the thought that vegetarians smell less when they sweat and also smell better, ummm "down there."

I've never even met another vegetarian much less dated one so I'm curious to hear ya'lls thoughts on this!

I dunno. There is also an urban myth about vegans be immune to mosquitos, which has not at all been born out by my life. I do find that vegetarian breath on average smells better.

Yes, my boyfriend ended up eating some cheese while he was away for 2 days a while ago and his breath smelled horrible to me when he came back. It lasted a few days and teeth brushing/gargling barely helped. Since then, he's vowed to never again eat cheese. (I'm vegan and he eats vegan 99.9% of the time.)

Interesting! Seriously about a week after giving up meat, I was outside doing yardwork around 7:30 pm, (when the mosquitos really come out to play around here), and didn't even get bit. I saw them approaching me but they didn't bite me. I had a meal made with a lot of garlic if I remember correctly.

I bottle my sweat and sell it at the local Neiman Marcus.

There are a lot of things we veg*ns like to think veg*nism makes us better at than omnis. I am usually rather skeptical of them, whether it's about intelligence or how easily wild animals approach us, or whatever.

Word. I've met just as many stupid, smelly veg*ns as stupid, smelly omnis. No one on this forum, of course

I seem to smell a bit better than I did as an omni, but I don't know that it's that significant a change. I mean, I don't go around sniffing myself, but still...

And if you package it right and tell them it's what everybody else is wearing they'll buy it! :- )

Did ya'll read the link about the theory being tested on the Howard Stern show? I do believe I spit out some of my oatmeal when I read that!

I didn't read that link, but I can only imagine. Howard Stern creeps me out.

I remember that film, it might have been the Dirty Dozen, where they were going to fight in Asia, and they got an Asian chef to cook for them all for a few weeks before going, because they said that the Vietnamese could smell westerners....I think that was more to do with dairy though, than meat.

It would make sense that vegans smell better since the Japanese do regard Westerners as smelly like off dairy produce. Remove that and you're about a neutral as you can get I guess.

I'm finding I smell better when I sweat. I don't have a second opinion to confirm that though, lol.

This is an easy fix. Just go sticking your armpit in unsuspecting victims' faces.
