I stopped eating meat about a month ago after reading a book about Veganism. I decided to start cutting down on the amount of meat I was eating, so I made a vegan meal one night. That meal turned into a weekend, which turned into a week, and so on. I figured out I wasn't missing meat at all so I just kept going! My sister has been a vegetarian for almost 20 years, so I was well educated on the benefits. I just never thought it was for me, or that I could do it. I guess it just wasn't my time yet! I am still eating seafood on the rare occasion. I eventually plan to start cutting down on the dairy that I eat as well, trying substitutes for milk and cheese and such and see how far I can go into Veganism.

My goal right now is to try at least 1 new vegetarian item or dish a week to make sure I don't get bored and so i'm getting a full balanced diet. I also started a blog to share and keep track of my progress. I was glad to find a forum that supported all stages of the transition into a meat free diet. I can't wait to learn new tips and recipes, and be able to get support from people who have been there!

Welcome! It's fantastic what you're doing. What I found helped me was to not put too much pressure on myself, especially with giving up eggs and dairy because they're in SOOOO many things. I focused on all the positive changes I was making. Dont feel guilty if you have a slip!
