Here's the flyer for the event on July 29:
Event information:
Please join us for a special evening of dinner and drinks with a fantastic guest speaker!
We will have a scrumptious prix fixe dinner ($20) at Pura Vida with guest speaker, Nick Cooney, author of Change of Heart: What Psychology Can Teach Us About Spreading Social Change and founder and director of The Humane League.
Mr. Cooney will be able to teach us more about how to make a direct, positive influence on the world to help animals, the planet, and human health.
In encouraging the public to adopt sustainable behaviors, should environmental organizations ask for small changes like using fluorescent light bulbs or big changes like giving up cars? Why do most Americans say they oppose the cruel practices of factory farms and sweatshops yet still buy products from these places? How can we get more people to say yes to requests to volunteer, donate, recycle, go vegetarian, conserve energy or make other positive changes?
Change of Heart: What Psychology Can Teach Us About Spreading Social Change examines over 80 years of empirical research in social psychology, communication studies, diffusion studies, network systems and social marketing, distilling the highlights into easy-to-use advice for activists.
Come and meet new friends during dinner and after dinner at the cash bar, which will offer an assortment of vegan beer and wine. We will have the whole bistro to ourselves!
Parking is limited so please carpool! Please add your location and phone number in your RSVP so others can coordinate with you to carpool.
