What are some tasty fillings for it? Trying to expand out of the avocado and cucumber square....

I've had some very creative sushi parties...Grated carrots and beets are good, as well as smoked tofu, shiitake mushrooms, alfalfa sprouts, red pepper, spinach, tempeh, cooked sweet potato...

pickled daikon, pickled beets, taro, spring onions, green beans, mushrooms (those long straw looking ones work great), asparagus, spinach, mango, tempura sweet potatoes/yams

I can vouch for the cooked sweet potato sushi. Seems like it wouldn't work - but it's oh so good.

A place down the street from me does a tempura sweet potato roll that is out of control.

Down the street? You *******. I had mine in NYC - and that's a hella long way from this cornfield. You in the Chicago area? That's a little closer.

Tofu bags <3<br><br>
Not sure if it's -technically- sushi, but I get it at sushi restaurants. They stuff a small pouch of tofu skin with rice. NOM.

Mix Vegenaise and Sriracha, apply vigorously to all sushi <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/grin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":D"><br><br>
I used to love the spicy sauce they'd have with vegetable rolls and stuff, this is even better!

That combination works so well on so many foods. I top black burgers and falafel with it. I also dip vegan buffalo nuggets in it. Delicious!

They also do 1/2 rolls for happy hour. Not to rub it in, or anything...

Tried to make the yam and mushroom ones for the first time last night and they were tasty!! Though the BF likes both but prefers the avocado and cucumber ones as he likes the crunch, which was a surprise to me as he's an omni. I remember though that Sequoia was mentioning something about what I think was bell pepper and spring onion, can't remember for sure though, if you're here Sequoia then what did you have in your's? As for Veganaise, I think it's only available in North America, haven't seen it here in Holland.<br><br>
Have also discovered that a light sprinkling of chili flakes in the avocado and cucumber rolls gives them a nice edge. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)"> I've tried to find seaweed salad the last 2 times I've been to the grocery store to add to the rolls as well, they've been sold out though.

I bought some sushi stuff last week, haven't been brave enough to roll my own yet.<br><br>
Anyone ever try making it with brown rice?
