^^^ What Silva said. And sea vegetables, which are/were reputed to have B-12, DO NOT have the vitamin. They have something which gives a false positive result to chemical assay.
The links above were hard for me to read at this screen, but I do take a supplement. I think I read/heard that small amounts taken frequently are absorbed more efficiently than large doses, so I nibble bit of B-12 tablet once or twice a day. They're not expensive; I just like to be efficient. My doctor knows I don't eat animal foods and that I take a supplement, and evidently my routine bloodwork would show abnormalities if I was deficient. But I've also read that deficiency can cause neurological problems to manifest even sooner than anemia.
