So last night I was making tacos and got a real bad craving for cheese dip/queso. I have not had any luck with making my own cheese sauces (nutritional yeast and I don't seem to get along well). Has anyone tried the packaged versions or have any easy, yummy suggestions?

From one of our very missed VB'ers! I never got to the point of making it a "log", once everything got processed together I was hooked! You can add cayenne or whatever else you'd like. It came out thick, and I think I added more garlic. Has the texture of a good dip.<br><br>
Edit: Just reviewed recipe and realized there is no garlic! I know this was a hit, I suggest chopped jalepanos, or add drained hot salsa to it.

I tried the Nacho Mom's Ultimate Vegan queso and thought it was really good!

Neither have I. Every nooch-based sauce I've ever tried to make has been gross. That stuff doesn't taste like cheese at all. It's got a weird, nutty thing to it. Like old, funky-ass peanut butter. Ugh.

My friend just launched a product called Nacheez (available in Spicy and Mild). Currently it's only available at the Never Felt Better vegan shop in Sacramento, CA. or online (I think through Never Felt Better.) Foodfight in Portland should hopefully be getting it soon..
