It's hard to really read the ingriendents for me because i haven't memorized all of it and i really don't want to take the chance of eating something thats not vegan, if anyone knows of any ideas that would help me! Thank you!!

I wish it was that easy. (A website that automatically tells you.)

But it's really not that hard. Labels are your friends. It will get easier to remember the ingredients over time.

There are websites that have lists of "accidentally" vegan foods, including foods that are vegan that weren't necessarily intended to be, or ones that you wouldn't expect to be. Check out PETA's list at http://www.peta.org/accidentallyVegan. You'll find a lot of common foods on that list.

Try a little searching online to find other products that you like to read their ingredient labels. It helps to do it ahead of time, so when you go to the store, you already know some of the things that are safe to buy.

Hope that helps.

What a great idea though! Okay, who's a software designer around here?

You could type in the name of a food, and when the word VEGAN pops up, cartoon animals do a dance of appreciation. When it is NOT VEGAN, your computer threatens to explode. This could be a very addictive video game for the kids.

You just have to read labels, and when you discover something isn't vegan you make a mental note. For example, I wanted to buy some eco friendly dish detergent. When I got home I read the label and much to my surprise discovered that Ecover dish detergent contains milk!
