Hey veggies,

I don't usually wear nail polish, but I really love the look of black nails that's in right now. I've looked on veganessentials.com and veganstore.com, as well as at my local health food store, and they all have nail polish, but nobody seems to have black! Are there any mainstream polish companies that are vegan? Any vegans rockin' the black nails right now?

Thanks!

You might try Urban Decay, or BarryM - UD are normally quite cutting edge!

Thanks for posting this. One of my resolutions this year is to take better care of my nails. (they look pretty sad) I found a couple of brands that were non-tested, but I felt like I needed a chemistry degree to decipher the ingredients.

piratemoon...do you know if UD's things are all vegan?

I don't know either, but gelatin, shellac, red coloring..all sorts of potential problem areas are there.

oh by the way... NYC cosmetics aren't tested according to their site, and you can find those almost anywhere.

Ah. That is what I ended up buying here, Cissy. I have some of their makeup that was recommended as vegan on some other site. I just wasn't 100% sure about the ingredients in my nail polish.

<<already down to 9 good nails. *sigh*

I dunno. I prefer to look for answers from the company when possible, because Peta's list isn't always right.

thats odd... i wonder if it's like one of those things like the body shop... being owned by a larger company that does testing... it wasnt it's own listing, but it was under the listing for Dell labs... maybe thats it... either way, it's good news that they dont test
