I just have to share:

.. I decided to grow out my leg hair and wax it. I'm sick of shaving.

Tonight I wound up picking out some Parissa Body Sugar / 'natural hair removal system'- instead of wax. It's basically a roll on sugar solution (made of fructose, water and citrus extract) that acts like a wax. The strips are reusable and it works really well.

It's water based, so it's really easy to wash off your skin and to wash the strips I just soaked them in some warm water and the hair and sugar just fell right off.

It was a little painful (no more than waxing), and I should have let my hair grow for another 4 days or so, but it was great.

The kit was $16.99 Can, but will last for about 4-6 months for me, I'm guessing. That's better than the $20.00 a month I spend on razor blades and shaving cream. The reusable strips were a big seller for me too. I'm sure they have a limited lifespan, but still. Better than pre-waxed strips you have to throw away.

I tried Nad's back in the day, but it was kind of a goopy mess, and didn't get all of the hair off. I just started Googling the other day to try and find a vegan wax.

It says it's wax, but it was the only roll-on I found on the site. There's this product too, that's listed as body sugar: http://www.parissa.com/catalog/produ...products_id=30

Where did you find this stuff?

Does it say anything on the packaging about animal testing?

I tried the sugaring method a few years ago but it didn't work well for me.

Could be that I didn't have the knack for it or that I didn't do it quite right.

Self-waxing is definitely NOT for the faint of heart or impatient.

I'm a big fan of the sugar wax kits. It's taken a few tries to get the hang of it, but the easy cleanup makes it worthwhile.

-shudders- i think i may be too much of a wimp for self-waxing. i tried it once years ago and i was left with half a leg done and i had to quit. i think i'd rather be unconscious while someone else does it.

A few weeks ago I tried waxing again for the second time in my life, and had just as horrible as an experience as I did before.

It was the first one, the roll on. If you look closely at the package on the picture, it does say body sugar. It's says on the package, not tested on Animals!!!!

I found it at Shoppers' Drug Mart. It's made in Vancouver. I'm not sure if it's available outside of Canada though.

I actually decided to be brave and try my bikini line tonight. Good thing I'm flexible

Ive waxed myself a few times, its never really hurt. the key is to do it really fast - like pulling a band aid off hehe.
