I think he's a bit of a knob for stealing the idea for this from the Heavy Metal Vegan. And that voice gets really tiring to listen to after a few minutes - which is why I never listen to death metal.

I disagree.

After reading your post, I hit YouTube and watched the Heavy Metal Vegan.
They are actually very different in how they present themselves.

The only real similarities I see is the fact that Metal is a theme, and they are both vegan... neither of which are copyrighted to any one person.

And, to be honest, I like the Vegan Black Metal Chef better...as he better suits my tastes. I hope he makes more episodes!

Regardless, I'm now subscribed to both.

I didn't say they were exactly alike in how they present themselves, I said he stole the idea for it from HMV - which he did.

But they're so different. I have a hard time calling that "stealing" which is a rather harsh term. "Inspired by" might be better. To say a person stole their act or body of work from another, you're implying plagiarism. VBMC may have seen HMV and went "Cool! I can take my love for metal and apply it to my love for cooking! Brilliant!" ...and then creatively came up with his own way of doing so.

If VBMC played different characters, had lost of unrelated script, got a phone call from Satan, danced around with Micheal Jackson's ghost, or pretended to forget how to cook unless he was singing it out.... THEN it would be a clear case of stealing.

There are SO many "metal chefs" on YouTube. I flipped through numerous videos of chefs cooking non-vegan fare with the metal theme, in costume. Some looked like they'd been doing it for a while. They're all stealing the idea from each other? Who was the very first person that decided to apply metal to cooking that everyone else stole the idea from? Was HMV really the first?

YES!!!!!
Oh, I was waiting for this!!!

My pad thai from ep1 was a failure. My been sprouts were apparently bad, used way too much soup base, and I had way too many noodles. The fried tofu came out great!!! I'd never deep fried it before!!!

I love him. I actually like that in a couple recipes he screws up and realizes he used something not vegan, but he's man enough to admit it and warn others about it.

There's a news report out there about him but it puts him in a terrible light, the reporter basically making fun of him the whole time.
