The vegetarians have a thread, I hope it's okay if I make one for the vegan forum...

Has anyone tried the coconut milk ice cream yet?? It's definitely my favorite vegan ice cream (and I've tried lots), especially the chocolate flavor. Best of all? It's only $2.99!! Other coconut milk ice creams are often $5-6... The only bad part is that it's very popular and sells out frequently (you might have better luck finding the strawberry flavor, which is okay).

I meant the other thread. The one that just says "Trader Joe's" - I specifically moved it to a more neutral forum so both vegetarian and vegan items could be discussed in the same thread.

It is very good. I had some recently drizzled with organic peanut butter, also from Trader Joe's!

I think it's cool to have a vegan thread, that way one doesn't have to sift through it to find what's acceptable to vegans.

I go to most stores around here and the checkstands are surrounded by junk food, soda pop, gossip mags, comic books, discounted dvds... You have to run a gauntlet of impulse items, most of which are targeted at children. I love TJs because there is a big barrel of dried seaweed next to register 2. Granted, they also have the chocolate bars and pretzels, but seaweed? That always makes me laugh. You'd never see anything so bold in a chain store.

I keep a map of the local Trader Joe's locations in my car for when I am away from home and need to get a quick lunch. I'll grab one of the vegan sandwich wraps (eggplant, hummus, lentil) and an apple. I don't even bother trying to figure out what fast food places offer that might be vegan. Just point me to a TJs.

It is a big help to have a section just for vegan recommendations!
I love, love the soy chorizo! I made best chili ever with it! Getting more this weekend for tacos.
The soy cherry chocolate chip ice cream. I could do without the choco chunks, but really good.
The Everything Crackers. Bite size crackers with garlic, rye seeds, poppy seeds...

Fat free mayo. It's not veganaise, it's fat free so it has that jel quality, but , it is good and cheap.

No, I didn't notice. Sorry.

I do echo the sentiments that a vegan-only thread is helpful, though.

I've also put peanut butter on it! It's great. But I think just peanuts works even better (I would recommend the lightly salted peanuts at TJ's for it). Add a little bit of chocolate syrup and it's amazing.
