Well, you could always get those ones just with the little pictures behind the doors instead of chocolate. I didn't know they sold ones with chocolate in 'till I was 10.

That's probably not the answer you wanted though

The one I've had since I was little is a felt house, and there are little pockets all over the place, and you put these little stuffed felt shapes/dolls/etc in the pockets. They have the number of the day on the back, so you have to guess which one's which, since they're not in order. Except by the time you're 24, you have 'em all memorized. *blows on nails & rubs 'em on her shirt*

Maybe I'll get a reusable fill it yourself one and stuff each day with an Endangered Species dark chocolate bar. Then I could just have one of those every single day.

My mom used to collect different advent calendars... of the non chocolate variety. Usually you opened a door/drawer or took something out of a pocket and hung it on a tree or put it into a nativity scene. Or are you just wanting to eat chocolate every day? :p

I just got ones at Walgreens that are quite accidentally vegan, I'm sure.

My kids aren't vegan, so I wasn't looking for ones specifically - I was only going for cheap-cheap-cheap (and it appears that's what it is!!).

The "chocolate" is some crappy stuff with hydrogenated fats and artificial flavors... but no animal products! Go figure!

It's miniscule pieces, so I'm not too stressed about the ingredients, and I'm sure my kids won't care - candy (of any sort!!) for 25 days in a row is such an unheard-of treat they won't care what it actually tastes like!
