A new week and it's time for a new VB Celebrity, beanspud! An honored member since 2012, he has stepped forward and volunteered to fill the hot-seat for the next week, and field questions from his fellow VBites! A rousing cheer for beanspud! Huzzah!

Here's how the interviews work:

-Please ask only a few questions at a time, so everyone has a chance to participate. (You can come back often to ask more questions!) Each interview runs for a week, typically from Monday to Monday.

-Anyone (and everyone) can be a VB Star. If you would like to be a VB Star, just send me or any of the moderators a PM, and we'll arrange to get you into the hot-seat! In the event no one comes forward, it will be up to our current Star to choose next week's victim, er, interviewee. If you're asked to be a Celebrity, but don't want to be one, you may take a pass; likewise, the current Star is free to pass on any questions they are not comfortable with answering.

-Please keep our posting rules in mind, and let's keep this PG-13 or better. And remember, if our current famous person expresses an opinion with which you disagree, please do not give an argument in return. This is an interview, not a debate!

NOTE- If you'd like to read about our previous Stars (they go back several years,) all of the interviews are archived in the Meet Outstanding Users forum, for your reading pleasure!

Some vital information about our new Star of the Week:

Quote:
-Real first name?
I share the same name with an Angel, you may guess if you'd like.

-Age?
24

-Sex/Gender Identity?
Cisgender male

-Relationship status?
In a relationship with a wonderful girl whom I love.

-Location (as specific as you are comfortable being)?
Tampa Bay area, Florida, USA

-Religious beliefs (or lack thereof)?
Atheist. I am Agnostic about the possibility of a god existing, but it is not likely. I have ascribed many delightful concepts and feelings to a word 'God' in the past, but I no longer do due to the ambiguity of the word 'God' or 'higher power'. It makes more sense to describe what I see as my purpose in life in literary detail rather than such a vague, easily misinterpreted umbrella term as 'God'. I do not look down upon believers, and I still like to have a spiritual quality about my life.

-Political leanings?
Capitalist and leftist. Universal healthcare is a right, no one should be in debt due to a necessary medical procedure or have conditions fester to the point of having to go to the ER.

College and University education should be subsidized for those who seek a degree and maintain certain performance standards.

Soft drugs and prostitution should be legalized and regulated by the State.

Cycle infrastructure should be expanded, modeled after the Dutch cycle paths. Small mopeds, Rollerblades, electric and gas bicycles, and mobility assistance vehicles should be allowed on these cycle paths. Pedestrians should not impede cycle path traffic. Mass transit should have their own dedicated lines.

No one should be left hungry in the world, least of all one of the most prosperous nations on the planet. Food stamps, EBT, WIC should all be funded fully enough so no human cannot affort to eat.

Renewable energy should be emphasized, with a focus on solar technology.

The people responsible for misleading the American people to go to war over WMD should be brought to justice. Nation building, coup orchestration, false flag operations, proxy and religious wars should be terminated. The American people need to wake up to the horror that is war, instead of being compelled to march to a fetishized drumbeat of nationalism. Everyone should understand the suffering that accompanies war, and be reluctant to support war.

-Are you a vegetarian, vegan or raw foodist (or something else)?
Vegan.

-What is the meaning behind your username?
Nothing deep, bean and spud were already taken.

-Have you ever met anyone famous?
I've met Robert Cheeke, awesomely nice guy.

-Do you live with any companion animals?
I am taking care of two male rats at the moment.

-Do you live with any companion humans?
My girlfriend.

-Where is your favorite place that you have visited?
Camping in the Ten Thousand Islands and Anclote Key. I'd like to do it again.

-What do you enjoy most about being veg*n?
Having energy to do everything I'd like, sparing some animals from the knife, having a repertoire of inexpensive recepies, thriving, and educating others.

-With whom would you most love to have dinner?
All my good friends here on VB. It would be an epic feast.

-Do you have any secret talents?
I cut my own hair, but some people already know that. I can change the front gear on a bicycle with my toes in shoes while moving if the derailleur is missing.

-What dish/recipe can you make that knocks people's socks off?
I make a mean scrambled tofu.

-What's your favorite restaurant?
Chipolte has seen the most of my business lately, but I make a point of frequenting veg*n restaurants when feasible.

-What do you do to cheer yourself up when you're feeling blue?
Go for a run, cycle, gym, talk with some friends.

-What's your biggest cooking/baking disaster?
Burning fava beans, the smell lingered for days.

-What's the one food/product, that you'd love to "veg*nize"?
Filet Mignon. Seitan steak with portobello mushroom bacon perhaps.

Let the interview begin!

Hurricanes have passed by, but no. Just tropical storms and depressions. I have witnessed some mild flooding, but nothing major. Some fallen tree limbs here and there when the wind shakes them out. Haha my friends and I used to go surfing during the tropical depressions, best waves on this coast then. Cocoa beach is much better though. I have also paddled a canoe in a bay during a tropical storm to board a boat at anchor.

Yes, although I did not name them. Milo and Otis. I have a hard time naming animals, it seems the names are too shallow for the depth of their personalities. I'd probably have given them more common human names.

I passed by there recently, cycling on Pinellas Trail to Honeymoon Island. Have you been on the Pinellas Trail?

I've never played it, but I'd root for TBL before anybody else. Maybe one day I'll get more into sports teams. Biggest sport I follow is Tour de France, and even then I'm not up to date. I have ice skated before, and I like rollerblading.

Sliver, although. Where Did You Sleep Last Night remake gives me chills every time. I listened to the Greatest Hits album religiously during middle school.
Quote:
What is your favourite colour?
Green, like I aim to be myself. Emerald, reminds me of kale and yummy healthy plants.
Quote:
favourite video game?
Morrowind, PC or Xbox. Awesome game, disappointed with Oblivion. Skyrim is better, still seems to lack the depth Morrowind had though. The mud crab merchant has never returned.

I am an animal.

The prospect of being any animal besides human is a little frightning. I'd like to be a dolphin. First vegan dolphin.
Quote:
Do you sing in the shower?
Sometimes, when no one is home. I improvise serenades.
Quote:
Drums or guitar?
Drums, I love playing my bongo drum. I never learned more than scales and a green day song on guitar. I have been in a drum circle or two.

What's the daftest argument you've had that you can remember?

Hello Beanspud.

The World's most expensive remote-controlled toy car is currently sitting on Mars. Operators at NASA are wondering if the tyres are strong enough to withstand contact with any rocks beneath the sand. I'll keep you posted on progress.

Whats your favourite Toy and would you like a one way ticket to Mars.

STAY HAPPY

Netherlands, even though I have not been there. I watch YouTube videos of the cycle paths and daydream about being able to commute without being so close to automobiles. Colorado and Oregon have cycle infrastructure that beats anything Florida has, so I would look into those areas before leaving the US.

In 2008, that Obama was going to confiscate everyone's guns and put political opponents in FEMA concentration camps. This person had very unsafe gun handling practices, and had no business with a firearm. Interestingly enough, firearms were what he was most passionate about. That, drugs, and Ron Paul.

Ceramics. I experience a focus when attempting to finish a piece that is unique. Ceramic sculpture is my favorite. Unfortunately I don't have immediate access to any pictures of my work.

Please do, I hope something exciting is discovered.

My smartphone. It's amazing to have access to information, maps, GPS, and a link to the world fit within the palm of my hand. I am excited to think of the possibilities a decade from now.

No, I would be quite lonely by myself. I like solitude, but only with the anticipation of future human interaction. I don't anticipate enough people visiting Mars to fulfill this expectation.

Being a cyclist in the Netherlands is awesome, there are so many cycle paths and right of way :) Being a pedestrian isn't quite as good, you get mown down by everything (cars, bikes, trams).

What names would you have given Milo and Otis now that you have got to know them, also how did you end up caring for them?

When I scrape enough cash together, I will be over there. The airfare is too expensive at the moment.

A friend allowed their parents to copulate, and did not have the resources to keep the entire litter. My girlfriend took two of the children, and that is how they came to be.

I would have named them William and Joseph. It is interesting how intelligent they are, and how our perception of others intelligence may change. I think people may be afraid of recognizing others intelligence out of fear it may lessen the appearance of their own intellectual standing among their peers.

Sweet! The trail is huge, one of the longest in the area. I can only imagine Santa waterskiing, that would be a unique way of delivering presents here. Haven't been to Disney world in ages.
