I hate that tap water has it too. I use a fluoride-free toothpaste, as does my daughter (who has no cavities).Originally Posted by Amy SF
I've been using toothpaste without fluoride (Tom's of Maine), and I'm fine with it. I don't see a need for excessive amounts of fluoride in my life. When I was a kid I was forced to have a series of fluoride treatments at the dentist, and I think that was enough to last me for a lifetime. It's also possible that my tap water is treated with fluoride, I'm not sure. A lot of municipalities will do that, which I hate.
I was using the toms of maine no fluoride and I didnt like it.....I didnt like the feel of my teeth after I brushed and I didnt get a clean feeling....I got those fluoride treatments as a kid too......but I dont drink my tap water so I dont get it that way.........but I just dont care for that toothpaste fluoride or not....and I am not against using a no fluroide toothpaste....I just dont like TOM....Originally Posted by Amy SF

I've noticed on websites that sell TOM's toothpaste, such as drugstore.com, the reviewers state they don't like the taste or how their mouth feels after they brush. I wonder if there's a correlation between that and what they do immediately after brushing; do they rinse a lot? I always use my Waterpik oral irrigator after I brush, and whatever is left in my mouth gets rinsed away when I do that, so my teeth and mouth feel even cleaner. If I only brush and don't use the Waterpik, my mouth feels a little weird.Originally Posted by I Heart Corey Haim!!

I know....just using up what I have cause I refuse to pitch it and add to the landfills.
Not all of Tom's toothpastes contain SLS. A few of them are SLS free.
I had this issue when I first tried their toothpaste also but I've gotten used to it. I contacted them about it though and they replied saying that since it's a "natural" toothpaste it doesn't contain the same ingredients as regular toothpaste that makes it foamy.Originally Posted by I Heart Corey Haim!!
