I contacted the Shelter last night to ask about<br><br>
Gretchen and the likely hood of her pulling through. I was told the she will come out just fine. She just needs the skin graphs as you can see. So please consider making a donation. Gretchen Medical Fund<br><br><br><br><br><br>
Emergency Medical Funds are needed A.S.A.P. to pay for the ongoing care of Gretchen, a 7-year old, spayed female German Shepherd who was recently bit by a BROWN RECLUSE SPIDER.<br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>
This poor girl has had ongoing operations to remove decaying skin. Due to her condition, she has had to be transferred to a specialty dermatology clinic, where they continue to try to save her. Until this is under control, she will also need more lab tests, medications, etc.<br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>
The veterinarian bill is already over $3000.00. Gretchen's "Dad" who brought her to San Diego to live with him 5 years ago, is on SSI, and can't afford the bills. He has already paid $1000, and taken out Care Credit for some of the expenses.

That is awful! Never seen anything like that because of a spider bite. My dog got bit by a spider, and she was put on antibiotics. It cost me $200 dollars, but it was not as bad as this poor dog.

The amount of skin lost makes me wonder how long it went unnoticed before the dog was taken to the vet.

No, I do not work for the shelter. The letter was sent to from the Boston Animal Defense League.<br><br>
I called the shelter and they said the pup would be good to go after the skin graphs. That is what is so costly.
