My friends and I are currently working on an gay-themed independent comic book that features several vegetarian and vegan characters. It will be distributed as a webcomic, as well as through ComiXpress.

http://pridecomics.com

Center, Top: Suravi ("Sun" in Sanskrit), a luminescent heroine who is

blind but sees through the eyes of her telepathic teammate,

Mindsweeper (the young man with matching sunglasses). She is South

Asian, raised by Quaker missionaries and a life-long vegetarian.

Center, Bottom: Kid Mischief, an empath who can tap into and sway the

emotions of others. As an empath, he can sense the emotions of all

sentient beings. Due to this awareness, he became a vegetarian. I'm

running the idea by the other writers to eventually have him go vegan.

The other veggie-lover in the comic book is my namesake, Verdant, who is

a vegan member of the faculty at the school portrayed here.

Veganism/vegetarianism isn't the main theme of the comic, but I do

plan to touch on it from time to time.

Heya Jen!

I've been around, but mostly lurking. The cooking forum is where I mostly hung out, and as life got busier (comic book and acting on top of the day job) I cooked less and less and less. Issue #1 will be released the first week of September for the whole "back to school" motif.
