A bit of good, encouraging news.

From the UNC student newspaper:

Quote:

This summer, incoming students will be asked to read and discuss Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer, a book that goes beyond Foers decision to become vegetarian by exploring the relationship between man and food.

...

I think any student reading this book will look at the research that the author did and realize that thats what they should think about doing for all the big decisions in their lives, Yopp said.

Collins said he thinks students will relate to the books subject matter because it focuses on food.

Its so different from any book weve chosen in recent years, he said.

It's so good that this book and these issues are becoming more widespread. More people are thinking about vegetarianism and critically about food.

Wonderful.

I know that many more law schools are beginning to have courses on animal rights and animal law. Yay for progress!

I read that book last year and although I was already veg, it sent me back on my way to veganism. Hopefully it'll change other people's minds!
