I'm trying to find a delicate way of saying this, but I can't. I smell like something crawled into my small intestine, set up a brewery and is getting ready to market it to my colon. It's been going on for a couple weeks and it doesn't seem to want to stop.

I've been reading that a complete fast for a day or two would probably rid my body of the brewery. The problem is, I do not want to do a liquid fast. Not at all.

So...anyone have any ideas on a easy to digest semi-fast? I was thinking fruits, cooked vegetables, and small portions of plain, well-cooked grains.

I need to stop smelling like this! My cats won't even stay in the same room anymore....

I have a question. Could this be a colon issue, where possibly a colon cleanse would help? If so, a friend of mine told me of a very simple and gentle colon cleanse that she does. If you think this could be the case, then let me know and I will be happy to post what she does....

EDIT portion: okay...I reread your post and thought...hmmm you only mentioned your colon a couple of times, so duh, it more than likely is a colon issue.

This is what my friend suggested.

First thing in the a.m. you drink a glass of water and eat a large piece of fruit (preferably something like an apple for the ruffage) About an hour later, make yourself a bowl of cereal, something like oatmeal. After that, continue about your day like usual. In the evening, take some psyllium husk. (she said you can get it in powder form or pill form) That's it. Now...she said she does this for a couple of weeks. It may take a while to get the results that you are looking for, but according to my friend, this is very gentle on the system, but very effective. She originally did this to help with some digestive problems, but now she does this every year for general maintenance.

I used colon as a part of humor. It's an intestinal thing, as I can hear it talking and rumbling.

I can't afford to buy anything new, so husk is out. And that stuff scares me anyways.

I could stick with the cereal and fruit, though.

When I did a fast, there was this thing I had to drink EVERY morning to cleanse......and it WORKS. It sounds so simple and weird, but seriously, make sure you are in a bathroom after you drink this. It's supposed to work within an hour after drinking it, and YES...be in the bathroom during that time. This is it:

Drink an herbal laxative tea the night before. First thing in the morning prepare a full quart (2 cups) of luke-warm water and add two level teaspoons (two rounded tsps. for the Candadian quart) of uniodized sea salt.

Ordinary iodized salt will not work properly. Drink the entire quart of salt water. This must be taken on an empty stomach. The salt and water will stay intact and quickly and thoroughly wash the entire tract for about one hour.

wow...

may i ask though what you mean by 'herbal laxative tea'? is this a specific thing you buy or are you talking about a general one like peppermint that tends to keep it all moving?!

You want to buy a tea that has Senna in it. "Smooth Move" made by Traditional Medicinals is a good one.

What Baby said. You can find em usually at a health food store...they will either say "laxative" on them or you can just buy plain old senna tea. I like Baby's suggestion because Traditional Medicinals is a great company.

I ended up eating fruit and cooked vegetables for a day and I feel fine now. My bf's kids have been sick and I think I caught one of the zillion bugs they have.

I guess I wasn't clear enough in what I wanted. I don't believe in hard-core cleansings; I just wanted to eat/not eat something that would let the bug in my intestines die and leave. Fruit, veggies and water did that.
