Welcome to California! Yes we accept vegetarians, vegans, Muslims, homosexuals, and Mexicans! No, everyone cannot live in Los Angeles and I don't recommend it as your ideal destination. However we have many tolerant communities on our long coast, and in the Northern regions. Southern California is actually fairly overwhelmed (unless you are a major degree holder and high wage generator, or entrepreneur) and I think San Francisco is too expensive for many as well. However, California could encompass 3 other states, and according to one article I read with conservative bias...conservative people are leaving! Enjoy their right leaning exodus by joining people who will embrace or tolerate your lifestyle. Our state is the potential future home of climate research, and is already home to Silicon Valley and farming that supplies food to many other states. If California were a country, it would be in the top 20 richest. We are thoroughly prepared to fight back to the recent election. The recent results declaring Hillary Clinton the president of our state may absolve us of a large number of anarcho-capitalists. Please don't come here if you're an actress, go to New York (also good!) and try live theater, but if you are a veggie family seeking shelter, you're bound to find more like minded individuals here.

Wow, rewind to 1981 !

“We must know the facts and be guided by them...nature does not forgive fools nor does she spare them the penalties of their folly”
Ernest Callenbach, Ecotopia Emerging

Note: Ernest Callenbach's classic novels, "Ecotopia" and "Ecotopia Emerging" are inspiring, but they don't really describe a "Vegtopia". Also, some events in the novels are pretty offensive. Still good reads.
