So we have the chance to spend some time in France next week, and are considering a day trip (maybe) to either Torino or Geneva, since both are relatively close to where we'll be. Does anyone have suggestions on things to do in either city, or recommendations for which one we should choose?

Torino! If you're interested in architecture, Torino is definitely better than Geneva - I think it's prettier.

Then again, maybe I missed the pretty part of Geneva.

One of my friends studied in France - I will ask her for you soon and report back.

I second Amy's motion for Torino. I, too, have been to Geneva (I was little) and I don't remember it being especially scenic either. I remember the food sucking big time though.

Geneva is pretty boring for a visitor. You have to live there to enjoy it. For a day trip, I don't think it's worth it.

I second Turin.

Woot! I was leaning toward Torino, as I have a bit of a fascination with Italy in general. There is a wicked looking veg. restaurant there, I may get to try out some Italian, and it's the home of the Museum of Cinema (insert Hallelujah Chorus music here).
