So, what fashion trends do you hate and why?

UGGS, skinny jeans, Ed Hardy? Pick your least favorite looks and discuss.

Uggs are not only cruel and unusual to the poor animals that are butchered to make them, but cruel and unusual to anyone who witnesses a teenage girl wearing them. Especially with leggings as the ONLY FORM OF PANTS.

Leggings are not a sole source of pants. They are too thin, in places.....

Edit-to-Add, my personal commentary on fashion:
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

When you all hate on skinny jeans, do you mean really, really skin-tight ones or any jeans that taper toward the ankle? If it's the latter, I'm guilty. Please don't hurt me.

I don't approve of people who wear them 5 sizes too small--they're gonna look horrible no matter what. I wear straight leg/pegged/'skinny' jeans too....but they FIT ME. (if anything, they're baggy in places)

Both, I just don't like the way they look

Skinny jeans, uggs, men wearing sandals with shorts, girls wearing leggings as if they are real pants...

All I could think of was:

I don't have a problem with skinny jeans, but they're called that for a reason. If you don't have the body type for them (I don't), don't kid yourself.

And yes, leggings are not pants.

Men aren't supposed to wear sandals with shorts? Does that mean you don't like men wearing shorts at all, or sandals? (IMO, sandals look better with shorts than other kinds of shoes, and sandals seldom look good with long pants.)

I think there are many silly looking fashion trends, and many silly fashion conventions. Ties are silly. Pantyhose/nylons are silly. Huge shoulder pads are silly. Anything that is obviously uncomfortable is silly. Too desperate marketing of one's physical assets is sad and pathetic (camel toe in women, bare midriffs hanging out in below freezing weather, mesh shirts, etc.)

Other than that, it's interesting how people express themselves in what they wear.

If skinny jeans are worn on the right body, they look awesome. However, too many people lack judgement in this category. I myself am a large mammal and have respect for my fellow humans...I wear boot cut jeans THAT FIT. No Dunlap disease...lol.

The one that kills me, are the wanna be g-boys who wear their pants falling off their bums. I just want to run up and either give them a wedgie, or depants them completely. Showing me your boxers is tantamount to an invitation. They are called UNDERWEAR for a REASON!!.

Wearing socks with sandals
Jeggings (leggings that look like jeans, yuck) and if you wear leggings make sure your top is long enough to cover your bum
Purposely showing your undies (male and female)
UGGS (ugliest things I've ever seen)
Womens jeans with the wash that leaves wrinkles fanning out from your crotch area, not an attractive look
Jeans that are so low you see crack ("Just say no to crack")
Really garish makeup for everyday wear
Wearing your pj's to go grocery shopping, don't be so lazy

These are my thoughts as well. I see a lot of men wearing sandals with shorts. I don't see how that's bad

I don't get the skinny jeans, ugs, legging (jeggings!), Ed Hardy all being popular. I just don't understand the attraction but then again I lack all fashion sense so I have no room to talk .
My standard way of dressing is in hoodies, flared jeans, and sneakers. I'll take comfort over trendy any day!

What's wrong with men wearing sandals with shorts? I can't imagine anything else men would wear sandals with. They'd look silly with long pants. Being in Florida, sandals and shorts are pretty common around here. It's the idiots who wear socks with sandals who are the freaks.

And I agree that skinny jeans look good on skinny people. It's the people who can't judge if they qualify who are the problem.

I'll disagree with mlp about ties and pantyhose. I'm ok with classy clothes for the sake of looking classy. Don't kill yourself in incredibly uncomfortable stuff for fashion, but I've never been that uncomfortable in a tie.

And I totally agree about the people who wear their jeans falling down. I'm still trying to figure out how that incredibly stupid trend ever got started.

I'm really surprised nobody has mentioned crocs yet. Goofiest shoes ever created. At least uggs look like they'd be practical in cold weather. Why would anyone wear crocs?

I used to have a pair designed specifically for food service use, and I have to say that even though they are one of the ugliest shoes ever made they are HANDS DOWN the most comfy pair of shoes I have ever owned.

I don't care if they are in style or not - no tapered at the ankle jeans. Ever. My feet are too big. I know some cats want to expose their converse sneaks - but hey I won't wear those either. Give me bootcut - hell bellbottoms even before straight-leg. Otherwise my feet arrive a full 45 seconds before I do.

Shorts and sandals are fine if you're going to have fun in the sun. Musicians just shouldn't wear them onstage. That irritates me.

I wear jeggings, but that's because I hate the feel of leggings. However, I do NOT wear them as pants, I usually wear them under a dress, skirt, or a really long shirt.

Maybe whoever said "sandals + shorts" means "sandals + socks"? That is just wrong on soo many levels.

They totally form to your feet. I was skeptical at first myself...and then I wore them on a 10 hour shift when I was a waitress. It was amazing.

Yes, they are ugly, but they are the most comfortable shoe. I wear them as house shoes, in the garden/yard, and if I'm especially sore/tired, out on errands. They make a big difference, not only for one's feet, but also joints and back. I have a friend who in constant pain because of a degenerative disease, and she can't wear any other kind of shoe.
