It has been mentioned on VB many times before that Nissin's Oriental flavor ramen noodles are vegan. I just checked out their website FAQs and they actually have another flavor that is vegan - a Chili flavor.

I looked it up and read a blog review of it from 2008, so it's been around at least 3 years, but I have never seen it in the stores.

Have anyone here tried it? Is it any good?

I didn't know that there were other vegan flavors of ramen available. I'll take a look for this next time we go shopping. Maybe I'll be able to give it a try.

Its pretty good, it has a bit more a Thai type flavor than the Oriental flavor. its not very spicy at all either

I have a few packets in my pantry. It's just okay, I prefer the Oriental version myself. It's spicy and tastes a lot like chili powder. It took me a while to track down and I don't even remember where I got it now (I think Stater Bros, I local grocery store). The last time I had it (about 2 weeks ago), I ended up just tossing the packet. To me, it's missing something.

Bright Bird: do they sell these in Canada? I don't think I've ever seen them. I used to eat Mr. Noodles all the time, and was quite surprised that most of the flavours are vegan (including the beef and chicken flavours!). My favourite was always the vegetable flavour, and I still buy them when I'm really poor.

I wish I could find that style of noodles that was made with brown rice or whole wheat flour.

of course if you can find them in the store for cheaper thats better but someone said they couldn't find them, so this is another option thats also fairly cheap (less than $1).

When you look at online pricing, you have to add shipping into the "low" prices to determine the real price.

sometimes but there are lots of discounted and even free shipping with a minimum price order. you aren't even the person that was having trouble finding these, dont know why you are arguing about online prices?

the point is that these are available online for low prices for those that want to try it or can't get it where they live.

I haven't seen them up here yet, but I keep looking. I spend half of my year in the states where this brand is really common, but now that I'm in Canada I end up looking for brands that just aren't there. When we went shopping last night all we could find was Mr Noodle.

My local grocery store quit carrying this brand a couple of years ago. It sucked since they were only ten cents a pack and their oriental ramen made up about 80% of my broke-student diet. I'll have to check around and see if any other places carry them. The Chili flavor sounds pretty good.
