My daughter turned 5 in March and her baby teeth are already wiggling their way out of her mouth, she's my first child and I'm just wondering, 5 seems young to start losing baby teeth, or isn't it?

When did she get them?

It depends on when they get them. My daughter got hers at a year, and she just lost her first tooth at 5.5. So if yours had hers at prior to a year, she should lose them earlier. It's totally relative to when those baby teeth first popped up, when they pop out. That's why babies who get teeth later in the first place, are said to have their teeth longer in life.

This is from an article I read. But I think your girl is right on track. I work with exactly this age group, and 5-6 is the age when they start coming out. As early as five isn't abnormal.

Hope this helps.

Good rittens, thanks, I thought kids were supposed to be like 7 or so. Good to know she's still somewhat normal, whatever the heck normal means.

From what I remember, I lost a couple of baby teeth around 5, then the rest went from then until I was about 7 so don't worry!

I'd think it'd be fine. I lost my first baby teeth a month before I turned six. *remembers it very clearly* Of course, I still have two teeth yet to lose.

It's so weird to remember there was once a time when having loose teeth and teeth falling out was normal! Now I have nightmares about that.

Yes, I started losing mine at about exactly 5.

So My daughter is now dressing up as the tooth fairy and walking around with her little white daisy purse and leaving coins under all our pillows.
