After reading about how much everyone raves about the Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese, I was thrilled to see it in one of the HFS at which I shop. I took a look at the ingredients and was horrified to see that they use hydrogenated oils. I refuse to eat hydrogenated oils of any kind.

Any comments on this? I miss cream cheese, but not that much.

I really like the Tofutti cream cheese and their sour cream substitute. I use them very rarely (perhaps a few times per year), so I don't view the hydrogenated oils as being that big a deal in the scheme of things. Compared to most Americans, who eat something with hydrogenated oils every DAY, treating myself every couple of months is not a bad thing IMO.

I'm with GV- I indulge in a Tofutti bagel, maybe once a month. If that much. And.. I doubt it's going to kill me. True, consuming hydrogenated oils daily is bad for you.. But a little treat here and there to ward off a cream cheese craving is perfectly fine.
