My is currently at work so I was sitting here thinking of all the events that has happened in my life and I realized how lucky I am, and how far I have came. It has taken some time for my parents to adjust to my want to be a vegeterian. I remember a time when the big family dinner would turn into a two sided heated argument all caused by the fact that I didn't want to have turkey on my plate. How the times have changed..I'm currently lacto vegeterian, I struggle with cheese..it's my weakness I'm trying to work my way off that too. Anyways last night I worked late and my folks ordered pizza for supper, and even though I wasn't home for dinner and wouldn't be back til midnight they got me a veggie pizza. My parents still struggle with my lifestyle, but have come such a long way. I've even heard mom tell others that her daughter was a vegeterain with a sort of pride in her voice. Last night gesture just made me realize how far we've come and makes me feel so grateful. Just had to share

There's nothing like it when your family accepts and remembers your lifestyle choices. And hearing the pride in her voice too! Very awesome!

Congrats! Hopefully this will serve as inspiration to folks who are struggling with family acceptance issues... sometimes it just takes a little consistency and time.

I have to say there has been struggles with this adjustmet, but I"m very close to my family and I"m proud that my lifestyle is no longer an issue. It took some time to adjust and as time when on they learned that I could still be healthy without eating meat. The funniest thing my Mom probably gets the well what does she eat question more then myself LOL.

Nothing like appreciating the things you have going for you. For you that have family/friends who are understanding and tolerating of AR or being vegetarian it's something to appreciate, even the same people give you plenty of crap in other ways...going by personal experiences of course here.
