Title says it all.

I know it comes up a million times on these boards . I'm thinking of going to experiment with it because I don't have any better solutions at this point. Long explaination, skip to bottom if not interested in details..

Nobody suffers from my health issues, the docs don't know what's really wrong with me. I parially solved condition #1, only to make condition #2 worse with the meds used to treat condition #1.

My thread with leg paraylsis just confirms my belief that I cannot get any sound health advice off the internet unless the other person also suffers from the condition in question or there is a more clear diagnosis.

I am open to other suggestions, but they MUST come from someone who is available IRL or suffers from similiar problems. These are not normal needs that can be met with what works for normal people.

I'd live on vitamins to stay more vegan with my special needs ( heck I know other people with special nutritional needs do it) , but it's not even physically possible for me to consume the amounts I need that way. Plus the high vitamin consumption alone is making me sick despite that I do a lot of liquid vitamins.

According to several pages I've been to, the vitamins I have most difficulty absorbing are in highest sources from animal products, hence the need to experiement. If nothing happens, I'm right back to my mostly vegan state, if it does help, I'm going to try it until I get help from another vegan IRL or doc to manage this problem. I'm not intending to go...oh well...I can't be vegan end of discussion. If it works, I'll just use it until I find a better way to manage this problem.

Anyways...now that I got that out of the way...what is a healthy thing to get that has eggs in it for someone who basically hates them?.

Why don't you figure out what it is you want to get from the eggs, then find that in other sources?

I'm also not sure what made you ever think you could get sound health advice on a message board. When you ask questions, odds are you're going to get opinions and anecdotes.

My apologies but I found your title particularly unclear.

Quote:

That's one of the smarter things I've heard you say. (Or a number of people say in regards to health here for that fact. If someone is genuinely having health problems then an internet forum is not exactly the best place to seek health advice.

Quote:

If you hate eggs why eat them? I'm not sure what "large amount of vitamins" you are looking for that are in eggs that you won't find elsewhere (in either vegan or non-vegan products). Protien? Cholesterol? Both can be found in dairy if you are looking for a reason to stop being vegan.

Quote:

I'll reiterate what I've said in other threads. Go to a doctor! If you are self-medicating yourself through vitamins you could be doing yourself a lot of harm. There's a good chance a lot of your health problems are not nearly as bad as you imagine and/or are making them out to be. It's very easy to get too many vitamins and if you are eating so many that you are making yourself ill with the amounts you are ingesting that is cause for concern. You could end up making yourself genuinely ill. You've said before that people who know what they are talking about say you have no vitamin deficiences, yet you continue to ingest large amounts. With B groups it's not so bad but I'd take the time to do a search on the effects of vitamin poisoning.

For example, some symptoms of vitamin A overdoes include nausea, loss of appetite, headache, fatigue and menstrual irregularity.

http://www.healthatoz.com/healthatoz...n_toxicity.jsp

The above is a link to a page of health problems caused by large amounts of vitamins.

Eclipse, I don't understand exactly what you are asking. You've got leg paralysis? (Permanent?) And some other condition too? And you are self-medicating with large amounts of vitamins? And you think eggs can help? Specifically, which nutrient in eggs is it that you think can help?

I agree that a veg*n message board is probably not the ideal place to ask for advice on this, but since you are asking anyway, I think it would be helpful if you were a little more clear.

I had another post about vegan sources of B vitamins and it was deleted just like the title of this thread.

I didn't ask for any medical advice here, or it would have gone into that board. I asked about products that contain eggs because I hate them and gave an explaination . There is a difference between an explaination describing a situation and a question.

I figured I'd get some judgemental statements about how I handle my B vitamin absorbtion issues from some people. You want to pass judgement on me, meet me face to face, then we'll talk.

I'm not sure why someone would delete the title of your thread...

I think the idea that someone possibly couldn't be vegan because of special needs or medical issues isn't something most vegan people want to hear.

oh, we'll listen and we "want" to hear it, but you fail to 1) make your post clearly and concisely about what you want to know 2) provide evidence of your supposed need for eggs 3) substantiate your statements in any way 4) post anything regarding your diet and vitamin intake.

if you want information on where to eat eggs, then just ask (that would be one or two sentence). but if that's all you wanted and you wanted no other comments, supposedly, then why the long paragraphed post with other statements contained therein?

I think you're overreacting. You're asking for advice, as you have in the past, and people are giving it to you. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it an incorrect response. I've tried asking all sorts of questions in your past threads, but getting your issues clarified is like pulling teeth.

P.S. I'm not going to meet you at the flagpole at 3.

I can't believe someone came along and threw in some random title to my thread!. First my title was deleted and now they changed my title from: Thinking of going back to being less vegan to leg paralysis.

Hm...maybe you're right, maybe I should have just said thinking of going back to eating eggs without the long explaination of why. Nobody really cares why anyways, they'll just see me as weak willed vegan or something.

I'm sorry. I also fail to understand the extent of the issue. I thought you had one instance of temporary leg paralysis? Has this reoccurred? If so, you need to get to a doctor!

I'm also not clear on which B vitamin you think you are not getting enough of. Is it B12? If so, it's very rare to not get enough by taking a sublingual supplement. If it's something else, who told you you could get those vitamins from eggs? Eggs are an adequate source of Riboflavin, but sweet potatoes, most grain products, broccoli, almonds, Brewer's Yeast, Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, soy and spinach are equally good sources. The only excellent source of ribofavin (more than 40% RDA per serving) is liver.

Honestly, looking over the nutritional value of eggs, I'm not seeing what makes eggs so special nutritionally. They aren't nutritional powerhouses like Brussels Sprouts.

Anyway, most of the B complex vitamins are uneffected by cooking, so you can make muffins with eggs, or pancakes. You can put extra eggs to just about any baked good and get a slightly different texture, but it will come out okay.

You can also scramble eggs and put them it in Asian noodle and rice dishes, and you can't really taste them.

I do really wish you would go to the doctor first instead of self-diagnosing yourself as being in some way unsuited to Veganism.

Yeah I had the leg thing once and it didn't reoccur.

Most of the sites said animal products were the best sources for high levels of B vitamins, even a pro veg site. I find eggs to me the lesser evil between that and dairy.

I am not self diagnosing any more then I have to, I'm working with a doc and doing stuff on my own. I do not think this problem is related to being mostly vegan, rather that taking meds is aggrevating a problem that was already there.

I do think there is another health problem that is linked to being vegan. Because I have seen many vegans suffer from it. This is another metabolism type issue.

Since you don't know what is causing your health problems, why not consider asking Sylvia Browne. That lady is AMAZING. I'm not kidding.
