Sydneysiders are kicking up an enormous stink, and it's all over the smell coming from their local charcoal chicken shop.
Councils are fielding a rising number of complaints about the thick, pungent smoke, which gets worse in summer.
So bad has the situation become that the NSW Environment Protection Authority has authorised a grant of $60,000 to fix it.
In a 12-month project led by Waverley Council and involving 10 other southern Sydney councils and students from the University of NSW, different methods of cooking chickens will be analysed to establish best practice guidelines for businesses to minimise the smell.
Bleah- when I lived in Philly, the cheesesteak smell was nauseating. Philly is known for their cheesesteaks, so all the delis use these huge fans to blow out the smell onto the street. I would avoid certain streets by all means possible, for fear of having that scent linger on me.

I hear that, sista. Jims on South on a friday night is nasty like cheap porn. But it doesn't bother me too much, I just watch 'em all pour out - their nasty obese selfs - whilst chompin' on my falafel from Olympia. Hell yeah falafel, now go clog your arteries up and die, fat boy.
Cheap porn LMFAO! I think the same thing while watching all the nasties pile in to the local steak house in Chicago.
Happy artery clogging to ya jackass!

"isn't falafel fried? and aren't fried things linked to health problems?"

I prefer my falafal to be heated using a large magnifying lens pointing at the sun .... this is the only real natural way to cook
