Okay, kiddies, let's get this out in the open. Which do you prefer: rain or snow?

I'll go with rain since I never experience snow, and snow is too cold, anyway.

It never snows here and I've only been around snow a few times in my life. So, I guess I'll have to pick rain.

Snow! Rain is all wet and soggy and snow is beautiful and light (until of course you have to shovel it)

as much as I love dancing barefoot in the rain. I gotta pick snow because you can't toboggan very well in mud, or have dirt-ball fights, and with snow comes frozen ponds for some ice-skating.

I think snow is beautiful in the right environment - there's nothing better than being in a cabin up at the mountains and watching the snow fall gently. I love going outside after a snowfall and listening. Everything is muted and quiet.

However, it's a ***** to drive in or try to do otherwise normal things if your city isn't prepared for regular snowfall. We got 8" of snow a few years ago and the entire city shut down for a week. I think Portland has like 5 snowplows period, so my entire street was snowed in. It took me over an hour to get to the grocery store, which was 12 blocks away and normally took about 15 minutes to walk there.

So I vote rain. It makes everything here green, it smells wonderful, it keeps everything clean, fills our reservoirs for drinking water, and creates snow in the mountains so you can go to the cabin and watch it fall.

Right now, snow. That's because it's been a very rainy week here, and I'm so tired of driving in it. Come February, I'm sure my vote will switch.

Here in Phoenix, we get, like, neither. I prefer snow, though. Both are awesome, but you can't have snowball fights with rain, now can you?

Living in the rain capitol of the world, where it rains ON AVERAGE 200 inches a year, I would have chosen rain...

BUT, I live in the rain capitol of the world, where it rains on average 200 INCHES A YEAR, and I can get pretty damn sick of it.

I vote neither. Deserts are cool...

So hard to choose... they both have their pros and cons.

I looooove snow while it's snowing, especially at night because the contrast is soo beautiful, and everything is sparkly and there's something just magical in watching it fall while everything around you is completely dark and silent and serene... but I HATE snow the day after. As soon as it starts to get brown and slushy or melty and I have to commute, I want it GONEEE! Those giant mounds in the parking lot that last 'til May get on my nerves.

And rain... rain is sooo good on a warm summer night, especially if you've had a few drinks and you go for a little barefoot walk... then you come in, get all dry and cozy in bed, and wake up in the morning and it's all grey and you listen to it tapping against the window and you just want to stay in bed like that foreverrrrrr. The again, those days when it just goes on and on, sometimes it's not even raining anymore - it's more like an old man wheezing on the back of your neck... and then people's driving skills decrease proportionately to the increase in precipitation... ughh....

So I guess I'd have to say both!

They can get quite cold at night. Snow even falls sometimes.

Rain, all the way. I love the way it smells. I love thunderstorms.

I like to put on my rain jacket and go for walks. Lying in bed and dozing while it rains is one of the best things ever.
