I am not sure if this belongs here or in the Veggie Patch but...I thought this could be a fun thread! So here goes...

What is the craziest (can be funny, cute, totally out there or whatever!) thing you have done for love (or extreme like or lust) ?

Ex: Did you accidentially hit that cute boy you had a crush on in grammer school on the head with a rock to get him to notice you? Have you ever taken a job at a place just because a person you had a crush on worked there so you could have an excuse to meet them?

Oh my gosh, I should get out of here now while there's still time! I was a total nut job when I was young. One thing I did when I was about 12-13 years old, was I had this crush on an older guy. He was walking past my house, alone, one day, and I don't know what possessed me but I ran into the middle of the street, got down on my knees, and screamed, " Joey, I Love You!" I'm humiliated to this day so I don't know why I'm sharing. I'm sure I have more but I'll wait to see what some others have to say!

About a year ago I jumped on a plane to go to San Francisco (I live in Ontario, Canada) to visit this guy I had hooked up with in Europe. Everyone thought I was crazy, including me, but I don't regret it at all. There was just something between us and I wanted to follow my instincts. I had a great time there!

i guess starblossom beat me to it, lol. 2 years ago i got on a plane and flew from the UK to Canada to visit a sweet guy whom i'd met in a chatroom a few months earlier.

at the time i was so lacking in confidence that i was scared to take a 2 hour bus trip on my own, lol, i'd never flown before, and had never been out of europe either. i just took a week off work, emptied my savings, bought a ticket, and got my petrified @ss on a last minute cheap deal 8 hour flight to ontario, to be met at the airport by this guy (whom i checked out as much as i could) all on my own, lmao.

apart from the fact that when he picked me up from the airport he had an axe in his trunk (don't panic, it turned out he had it there to remind him to get a new handle for it- i was a bit concerned for a minute at that point though!) everything went totally wonderfully!

2 years later i'm still with this random (but wonderful) chatroom canadian guy, (i spending my life coming and going between canada and the uk), and am so glad i made the choice to face the fear, trust my judgement, spend the money (and take the risk) and do it, cos looking back i never imagined my life could change like this.

awww, love, lol.

Lolz.

I put up with 2 years of severe verbal and mental abuse and made my damndest effort to make it work.

After 20-some-odd break-ups, thousands of dollars and 2 straight years of agony, I gave up.

Like Jen, I don't regret it despite myself and the damage it all did. Even though I am still a little "messed up", I learned a lot from my experience and my current relationship is doing really well.

I met my ex in Vancouver and decided after only knowing him for five weeks to follow him to Nova Scotia and attend university here. Tuition fee is extremely low in Austria, so my family wasn't happy about my choice of an expensive university in Canada.

I am happy that I came here (and thanks god that I am not with that guy anymore)

I moved across the street from Karen so I could "get the mail" when Heather goes outside so we can "randomly" bump into each other.

Amy beat me to the song.

I've been through the same situation as HandCuffedAngel. My family still doesn't understand that I still don't think being with him was a mistake. I know I had to go through that. I know that if I didn't ... it would just happen at a different time. He's lost any power, he might have had. I still feel love for him though despite some slight feelings of hate. I'd never be with him again and I'm not in-love with him. It's weird. I can't explain it.

On a happier note: 3 men inspired me to song. My first true-love in high school, another cutie I dated in jr high and my ex-husband.

Once I lived with a guy in his uncle's house. We were asked to pay $600 rent for a very tiny room in the attic and an olden style bathroom -- sink has separate spout for cold water and hot water -- bath tub has no shower attachment. The family was fairly large and they were always fighting, passing noxious fumes and leaving the bathroom dirty. I was willing to put up with it, because we were saving money and he felt this was the only way to gain his parents approval. --- they didn't like me. He came from a religious home (Pentacostal) and I was a Baaaad influence. I was also no good, because I wore jeans, watched t.v., cursed and had sex with their son. - not that they had any proof of these things mind you, it was just presumed since I wasn't Pentacostal myself. I think we were both 19 at the time.

I don't think too many men "ASK" for their woman to go above and beyond. I'm sitting here trying to think of any situations that a boyfriend might have asked me to do something for him "because I loved him". I've never had to bail anyone out of jail, walk 10 miles in knee deep snow just for a kiss, go without food or water for longer than a day or two....

Oh well I suppose waiting faithfully for your military spouse to return home is something some individuals are not willing to do. I've done it. I don't think the sentiment was reciprocated, but that's another story. I've also spent most of my savings, blood, sweat and tears on men (the guy in my first story and my ex-husband to be exact).

Crazy thing is.... I'd do it again --- for the right man --- in a heartbeat.

I drove out of town 13 weekends in a row just to be with this guy. We got married and divorced. I closed the salon down early a few times to do a personal haircut on a guy that I lusted so much for. Good thing I never got busted. Okay, both was 20 something.

I told my parents that I would be spending the weekend at a friend's house when I was really spending the weekend with an older man who I had been corresponding with for several months and who lived 400 miles away. I did everything you are not suppose to do during a first encounter, for example, staying at his place instead of a hotel. I just turned 20 and knew my family and friends would not approve. Six years later, however, I am still with this fine gentleman.

Awww... just bumped into this thread randomly and thought it was cute...

There's lots of embarrassing, immature "12-year-old-with-a-crush" things I can remember doing (but would rather not).

Some years later - as an adult, I took my brand-new first-ever credit card, (that I couldn't really afford to use), and charged an expensive spur-of-the-moment flight across the country so I could spend a weekend with this amazing guy that I'd broken up with, and then just gotten back together with - (because being broke up was the most miserable time of my life)... I just really needed to see him right then!

Yeah, it was worth it.

The craziest thing I ever did was get up early a couple of Saturday mornings, travel to another city to meet a G.I. who hadn't been in Korea that long and couldn't navigate the public transportation system, and escort him back to my apartment.

He, on the other hand, proposed in to me the presence of 120+ people Sunday morning, so I think he's got me beat on the "things done for love" front.
