Well, half of me was an unripe egg inside my mother's ovary while the other half of me was awaiting to undergo spermatogenesis. They were the happiest times of my life, no worries.

Plus I do love summer.

In Canada this year, that song was voted the no 1 song to drive to even after the 22 years since it's release.

It's not exactly the kind of stuff I'd play in my car but whatever turns you on and all that.

Heh, most of the, um, kids on VB weren't even born yet.

I, on the other hand, celebrated my tenth birthday and got rewarded almost a month later by a very nice belated birthday present - the sight of Neil Armstrong bounding down those stairs onto the surface of the moon. Practically everybody on the planet with access to a television saw the same thing. I don't remember if I knew about Woodstock, and in any case, I was too young to go. Even if I was old enough to go, I doubt my parents would let me, it was clear on the other side of the country and they've always been way too overprotective. My siblings didn't go.

I voted seemed to last forever because that's what summers are like for ten year olds.

I like the song, BTW.

As I was -4 years old, it is probable that they were the best years of my parents' lives. And I am probably a result of those days.

there's probably a 'summer of 69' (skazi remix) around somewhere

FWIW, I didn't get to go to Woodstock either.

Despite that, I had a great summer of 69. If I'd known that would be the only good summer I'd have for a long while, I would have enjoyed it much more than I did.

But those were the best days of my life. Back in the summer of 69. Oh yea.

My parents, living in two separate cities and unbeknownst to each other, were both relishing the days before they began junior high. I'm really not sure when they began to call it middle school instead.

It would take until college for them to meet.

The summer of 69 was good... but the summer of 68 was better. I started playing acoustic guitar (urk- self-taught), became interested in physical activity (like jogging/hiking)... I stopped eating meat then, although it took me almost another 4 years to drop fish.

Well, according to my parents, those were the days when I was screaming uncontrollably all day long and they couldn't figure out why. So, while I can't actually remember those days, and not for the same reasons other people can't remember those days (that's the closest I could get to a stoned smilie), no, I doubt they were the best days of my life.

And boy do I hate Brian Adams songs! Seeing as he was 10 years old in 1969, I think it's pretty sad that those were the best days of his life...
