hi
i want to show my family why i'm vegan because i don't think they understand the logic behind it...
they are compassionate people who care about the environment and often opt for free range or organic products but i want to gently show them the benefits of veganism and why it makes alot of sense...
i just want to leave some literature in someplace in the house where they may pick it up and have a read - i'm not going to specifically give it to them, as if they were ever to understand my point of view or even adopt a vegan lifestyle themselves i would want it to be because they decided they wanted to be vegan by themselves.
i'd like to know what websites/articles from websites i could print off that would show them the horrors of the meat and dairy industry (even the free range and organic raised animals) and preferably not US based, as they could then assume that the UK is somehow 'different'...but also show that a vegan diet is enjoyable and delicious too. i want them to see that it does make a difference and that it is important. they think that so long as the animals have a 'nice' life it is ok and that they are killed humanely....how can you show people this is not the case?
i am not going to approach them personally about it as what they eat is their own personal choice but i know how caring they are about the world and the welfare of animals and it just confuses me when they act so hypocritically...i'm sure if they knew the real facts they would feel differently about what they ate....
i'm sorry if this sounds really controlling or mean...
it just makes me sad when i think of all the animals that are being hurt
also my family remind me of how i used to be before i knew....
