Ooh, ditto to those chorizo chunks on pizza. They taste more like pepperoni than the "pepperoni" slices, imo (which are nice in their own way).

Blobbenstein...that is very interesting!

Vegan-friendly restaurant - Nando's

I never thought to try Nando's - I just assumed it was all chicken chicken chicken. I may have to give it a go as it is less than 5 minutes walk from me. Can I ask what sort of vegan meals they offered Earthling?

The veggie burger, if you remind them to leave off the mayo. You can also get it in a pitta bread. The bean burger has cheese in but is vegetarian, and some of the salads are probably vegan but I've never asked. They have a book behind the counter listing the ingredients and allergy advice for everything they sell, so you can ask them to look at it. I know there are vegan desserts too and most of the sides are vegan

They do cook the burger and corn on the same grill as the chicken, I think, so if that bothers you then best avoid it.

makeup: I've been really impressed with what I've seen from Une so far - available at Superdrug. Not 100% vegan, but loads of vegan products. Also dig Palmers' cocoa butter lip stuff and this brand of lip balm Hurraw, that I just discovered at the Bristol Fayre earlier this year.
Superdrug has loads of nice vegan stuff. Karl really likes their anti-itch cream (comes in a white/teal tube). I just saw someone talking it up on VF too.

I emailed Palmers last month asking which of their products are suitable for vegans and got this reply:

"Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately our products are not suitable for vegans – apologies.

Kind Regards
^ That was a bit of a crap e-mail. What ingredients arent vegan then?! Talk about a lazy employee - if I sent an email like that at my old job my manager would hate me. If I received that e-mail I'd reply asking for more information.

I just googled it and the first link to come up was from VB (hate when that happens - especially if its your own thread asking a question) and look: http://www.veggieboards.com/newvb/sh...-products-list they said some products were?! How odd.

I've seen someone else (at VF, I think?) who got that same email, but I suspect they're just covering their asses. There's another recent email saying that just certain products are vegan. I posted it somewhere here..maybe in the toiletries thread? Will have a look.

ETA: I must've imagined posting that, but there is this thread: http://www.veggieboards.com/newvb/sh...-products-list

^ It makes me laugh when meat flavoured things are vegetarian/vegan. People always say "it can't be! they're BACON flavour crisps!" like they expect that walkers to actually put meat in them.
