Whenever I eat at Subway I have two problems: they always want to skimp on the vegetables (when I am ordering a VEGGIE SUB) and the most disturbing problem is they use the same knife to cut everyones sandwich. Does anyone ask them to use a different knife? I really don't want to sound petty, but using the same knife really bothers me. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/shocked.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="">

I always say "more [insert veggie here]"<br><br><br>
and I never thought of that until now. I would just ask that they use another knife.

At my Subway they are quite generous with the veggies. I'm not particular about contamination, so I never ask them to change gloves or knives.

They're pretty good with veggies at the one here, but I have to tell them light on the lettuce (they seem to just dump it on).

I don't eat at subway anymore. I'm not picky on the contamination. I'll eat at a restaurant that deep fries my food in the same fryer they use for meat. And there's 100's of other ways your food can be contaminated with meat/eggs/dairy in a hectic kitchen. Eating out of the same fryer isn't going to change the taste, and isn't going to support the industries. My problem with subway was the person who bakes the buns that throws cheese all over everything. Even the whole wheat had cheese all over the bottom. Then they don't change their gloves, they use filthy knives, and then charge you the same amount of money for bread and veggies as they do for anything else. Not to mention all the veggies are likely contaminated with meat residue. Everytime a cold cut comes down the line, they touch the meat then reach in to grab some veggies. Just a little too unsanitary(by my standards). You could make much better at home at 1/3 of the cost, and 0 contamination <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/grin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":D">

It really depends on what chain store you go to. There's some that will gladly give you more and there are others that are just right out rude!<br><br>
I personally have stopped going there because there was I time my boyfriend and I went, the lady serving us sneezed on her arm but you can see her saliva went on her gloves. She went on finishing the sandwich, as if it was ok. My boyfriend politely asked her to change her gloves and she started arguing with us saying she pulled away from the food. The manager came and instead of telling her to change her gloves, he started arguing with us too. So, then after all the fuss, she did change her gloves but by the time she did--we walked away in disgust.<br><br>
I mean all of it could have been avoided had she just changed her gloves. Again, just be careful in what chain subway you walk into and the person serving you gets offended if you want a different glove or knife being used on your sandwich.

Yeah they have them. They dont look very yummy, Ive never had one. In fact I avoid Subway because they sell only Halel meat to appeal to all Omnis, and although all slaughter is wrong I feel its disgusting the way they slaughter animals.

+1. I used to ask them to change gloves, but then I thought about the environmental impact of doing that and stopped. Plus, I think it makes vegans seem a pain.

Some of them do. I know a couple around my area do (and it's a small area).

I used to work at a Subway and (at least with ours) cheese is meant to cost extra for more, as is meat, and there was actually a sign up that said extra veggies are always free.

same here...always say light on the lettuce, then lots of everything else. Mine is actually really good....When I go I'm usually ordering a sub for my husband as well, and they never have a problem putting the cheese from my veggie sub onto his either. Sometimes I get a strange look, but thats it!

I went there the other day and was not impressed. The 6" veggie sub was the same price as some of the footlongs and they skimped on everything. Also, I told the cashier it was a veggie and she didn't believe me and made another girl unwrap my sub and check. Seriously.

It's been a good long while since I've ordered anything from Subway. I got the Veggie Delite a few times even when I was an omni. I couldn't really tell you why. I guess I was just intrigued by the idea of a sandwich that didn't have meat. I remember thinking it was okay. *shrug*<br><br>
Oddly enough I probably wouldn't order something like that now. It seems a little strange to me that there isn't some sort of meat substitute or avocado or <i>something</i> that would make the sandwich a little more filling. Like I said I haven't had one in a long time, but vegetables and bread doesn't sound like it would be that satisfying. I think that particular sandwich should come with something extra.<br><br>
P.S. My brother always used to get an attitude at Subway because he wanted two banana peppers on his sub. (Apparently that's a strange request.)
