Speed varies over the day.

Sometimes it's 600, other times (lunchbreak) it's 20 % of that.

http://promos.mcafee.com/speedometer/test_0150.asp

I pay $50 a month instead of $30-something. It's not much more, and it's definitely worth it.

I don't host any sites at home, I pay web hosting companies to do that, but I would like to host some less-trafficked site one day.

I used to work from home, and my hobbies are Internet-demanding, so downloading databases and large files is easiest with a fast connection.

I'm on a school computer right now. I honestly have no idea what kind of connection we have here, so I put "other".

When I try this from home, this is going to be seriously depressing! There we have dialup.

Mine is a basic ADSL package for 39 bucks Canadian per month (about 27 or 28 bucks USD per month... so not a bad deal I guess)

Cable, Roadrunner, didn't expect it to be that high, tried a couple times and results were similar. Maybe I have an advantage since the testing server is out of Texas. Really not too far from Texas??
