My daughter, who is a tomboy at heart but also loves to dress up pretty has requested a tea-party for her birthday this summer. Birthdays around here are huge ordeals and we usually begin planning the next year's party six months or so in advance.
So here I sit, a new vegan, trying to come up with some delicate, dainty and elegant tea-party foods that are pretty and will be eaten by children ages 2-12 and enjoyed by adults as well. Any ideas? I think cucumber sandwiches with tofutti better than cream cheese is about the only think I've come up with. Also she wants a peach cake. I think peach preserves between the layers or pureed peaches in the batter would do. Any one have a recipe? How about vegan scones? Replacements for devonshire or clotted cream?
Thanks, Brandy
