So the annual Taste of Chicago festival is this weekend, and I see there are lots of bands and stuff playing there. So I might end up going with some people. Are there any veg options for food I should know about? Or is it all meat?

I'm finding it difficult determining who has vegetarian (and dare I say, vegan) options on the vendor list.

When I went years ago, I was not fully vegetarian, but ate at several booths that catered to veggie diets. Sadly, Soul Vegetarian isn't participating this year nor has it for a while. (When I visited a few years ago I was told that the vendor cost was just too high).

There are several Asian cuisine options: Chinese (Lao Ma La), Vietnamese (The Noodle Vietnamese), and Thai (Star of Siam), though these cuisines often use ingredients that aren't vegetarian. Now that I'm eating a strict vegetarian diet, I'd aver the taste has very little to offer me.

Went on Sunday, saw a couple of bands play, and found some good veg food. The Indian place had a chickpea curry with rice, and the Thai place had pad thai that looked kinda pathetic, but was actually tasty. Also got a frozen banana covered in dark chocolate (possibly not vegan due to milk, despite being dark chocolate) and some sweet potato fries from one of the meat focused places. All in all, not bad for walking and grazing.

That's not too bad. I'm thinking about going to Chicago VeganMania in September, but I'll have to see because I'm also participating in the Cosmic Run that same day.
