Hi all!<br>
Not only am I new to this forum, I'm new to "foruming" altogether. And I have to admit to being just a little nervous about the whole thing!<br>
Anyway...<br>
I grill.<br>
I grill vegetables. (And I grow most of the vegetables that I grill.)<br>
Tonight I'm grilling garlic-lime artichokes (my own recipe) and I'll post some photos on the "What's for dinner?" thread tomorrow morning.<br>
I'm very open to some back-and-forth conversation here, and hope to make some good connections on this site.<br>
More specifically, I'm interested in hearing from anyone who cooks most of their vegetarian meals on open flame, gas grill, cast iron, or wood fire.<br>
Or! If anyone would like to know more about these cooking methods, I would LOVE to share my experiences with you.<br>

I'll post some pics as I get down to cooking/experimenting with very very high-heat vegetarian cooking.<br>

This sounds way cool!!!! I am new here too! My mom grows some of our vegetables! Its way cool thing you do and i would love to learn more!

We don't do a lot of outdoor cooking, but do love our cast iron cook ware, and growing vegetables and then eating said vegetables. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)"><br><br>

I love my cast iron as much (sometimes more when it's cold out) as I do my grill.<br>
I decided not to grow any fall/winter vegetables this year. (I'm digging up and expanding my garden area.) I feel a sort of emptiness inside not having anything growing right now. (I do have some onions still in the ground from August, but that's all.) I'll probably go crazy next spring with WAY too many things growing at once!<br>

The short answer is, "Anything and everything!" But, more specifically, my favorite thing to grill right now is pizza. And there are too may variations of that to go into, but I'll post as they come up. It's supposed to rain here tomorrow, but sometime this weekend I'm grilling up Brussels Sprouts. I usually do these with lemon or lime because they're too bitter without some sort of acid, but I might try a balsamic reduction or something similarly "vinegar-ey" this time.<br>
And then there are always the old standbys: asparagus, mushrooms, veggie patties, etc.<br>
The main thing I like to do is find recipes (vegetarian ones) that weren't originally meant for grilling and adapt them for it.

I have heard of pizza on the grill but have yet to try it. I must admit, I hate brussel sprouts but your idea of making a balsamic reduction makes them sound heavenly. If there is one thing I like it's balsamic vinegar <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)"> Ohh how about a grilled balsamic and brussel sprout pizza? YUM

I can't always cook outside. Like today, it's cold and rainy. But I do have a cast iron grill pan that works OK on the stovetop. Kinda smokes up the house a bit. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)"><br>
There <i>are</i> limitations to using a grill pan, such as not being able to utilize indirect heat, but you can still get those pretty little grill lines we all love!

For a LONG time I thought I hated them too! But they were always being served to me boiled or steamed. On top of that! I think they were previously frozen, which always make them a soggy mess no matter how you cook em.

These were "grilled" on my cast iron grill pan in the kitchen on my stovetop. The house got <b>really</b> smoky!<br>

I love BBQing my veggies, I even barbeque through the winter. I also use ONLY cast iron in the house - LOVE it!<br>
I have a cob oven (earth oven), which you have to load wood into for hours and hours before pulling the coals out of it and loading the food in. It makes great pizza <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/lick.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":lick:"><br><br>
My favourite "adapted" recipe is to BBQ all the vegetables and not-meatballs before putting them into a spaghetti! Grilled veggie spaghetti - SO DELICIOUS!
