Can someone give a recipe for tahini sauce that one would put on falafel? Igot some tahini not so long ago, and I was hoping to put it on my falafel. It's not so good on its own, and it's been itting in the cupboard for a month.

So if anyone has any good ideas for tahini, post them here. I don't want that jar to go to waste!

Great Falafel recipes and Tahini and other sauces from Deb!

I love Falafel#1 (I meant to put 1/3 cup potato flakes and 2/3 cup water in the post) and the Tahini Sauce. I had one of these today and I thought about you, Loki. Try it, you will love it and then you will have to buy more tahini Shannon
loki: here is the recipe i use. got it off the bottle.

1/4 cup tahini

3 cloves fresh garlic

1/8 - 1/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon/lime juice

water to dilute to desired consistency

sea salt to taste

mix till all ingredients combined.

mmm! i love tahini!

good uses? well, i use it as a spread for breads, it lends a very succulent creamyness to cooked foods, good for dipping raw veggies in, kick arse with falafel, hummus and tabouli, i've experimented with making sauces with it....well, i only have ONE sauce to my name, heh. anything else? no, thats all i've used it for.
I use it in hummus, and in falafel sauce. It also usually ends up in my hot peanut sauce.

Hummus: chickpeas, tahini, garlic, cumin & lemon juice. Throw it all in the blender & smoosh it. A very good food!

Sauce: mix with water, lemon juice & garlic. If using blender (which you don't have to) then it will be frothy. I put in some chopped parsley if I have it.
Hmmm, good point, mushroom. Geez, I'm still tempted to try it, but who will I give it to if it's too peanut-buttery?

I've got some hummus, falafel, and tabouli mixes in the cupboard that I'm intending to try soon. It's been so long since I had any of them. I didn't really like them before (except for once this really amazing tabouli that I found in a hole-in-the-wall in Paris by pure dumb luck). But maybe my tastes have changed by now ... I hope so or I'm going to be an even WEIRDER vegan who apparently doesn't like anything!
