This stuff is AMAZING. I come from Louisiana where Tabasco is made. Every child in Louisiana visits the Tabasco plant on Avery Island on a school trip somewhere in their school career. So it is not unusual to find a Tabasco sauce I love, right?

Except now I live in the UK. You don't expect to see good ole Tabasco-made-at-Avery-Island stuff in the shops here. But I found this at Waitrose.

It is
It is spicy and smoky. Not too hot (although to Brits it may be. We find that when we make food mild to our taste for company it is still way too hot)

We have used it everything. Soup, potato waffles--you name it. I added some to my bean dip. I just like to lick a drop off the end of my finger.

I hope that Waitrose doesn't discontinue this because of lack of sales. I will seriously go into withdrawl without it.

That's the best version of Tabasco, IMO. The habanero version was a disappointment to me because they made it sweet. I didn't like the Garlic variety, and I love garlic. The original and Jalapeno versions aren't very spicy.

The Chipotle version =

There are things you guys can get in the UK, that we can't here in the US... we could work out some sort of a trade...

Uh, it's amazing, end of discussion?

It's a different flavor, nice and smoky but still comes with a bite. It's not nearly as vinegary as the original, and while I like a nice spicy hot sauce, I like this stuff a great deal more than I would have expected.

...sadly we can only get it in normal sizes here, unlike the 12 oz and larger sizes that the original and green pepper flavors have.

BTW, if the worst does happen and they stop selling it, the Tabasco website offers it in gallon jugs that can be shipped internationally.. as well as smaller sizes.

Gosh darn it all, I bought a bottle of this a couple of weeks back, but had pretty much convinced myself to wait until AFTER the move to open it ... seeing as how I already have three opened bottles of various hot sauces in the fridge. Must fight temptation. Must fight temptation. Must ...

Unlike everyone else I can't handle anything hot and spicy. My eyes start to water!

But my bf loves it. On our recent trip to Florida, he got some Blair's Mega Death Sauce but unfortunately he forgot to stick it in his check-on and couldn't take it on the plane because it was over 3 oz. fl

So for V-day I am getting him some hot sauces at this cool website:

http://www.hotsauceworld.com/

I got him the Blairs Mega Death ( comes with a cool skull keychain which will be mine)

http://www.hotsauceworld.com/blairmegdeat.html

Vicious Viper Hot Sauce(has some cool tropical fruit in it)

http://www.hotsauceworld.com/vicviphotsau.html

No S**t! This is Hot! (comes with another keychain in animal shape! Mine!)

Hot B***ch at the Beach (I got this because it is all Organic)

http://www.hotsauceworld.com/hotbitatbeac.html

Day of the Dead Hot sauce (comes with full skeleton key chain! Mine!)

http://www.hotsauceworld.com/hsw1984dd.html

What do you hot sauce lovers think of those? I hope I made good picks.

They have so many fun ones on there it was definately a hard choice. I wanted to get the Satan's Blood because it was just so cool looking but I had already too many in my shopping basket.

Awww... I did the same thing when Froggy and I were in Houston last fall! He'd brought me some amazing New Mexican green chile hot sauces and I stuck them in my carry-on luggage without thinking...

I know it was a little thing, but I was totally heartbroken when I had to leave them behind; I hope some airport security guard enjoyed them!
