In my own experience, in the time it takes to figure out that durned T9 nonsense, you can enter whatever it is you want using the ABC multitap approach.

Still i suggest using T9, though it's still your personal preference. It is much faster, also newer phones have updated their dictionaries and after you use it long enough and have added your own words, I think you'll see that it is much faster than mulit-tap.

Try to write on a 18-key keyboard telephone style keyboard is ridiculously slow, even with predictive text (T9). I rarely use my phone for texting. Yes predictive text is faster than key-repetition text, but is still devilishly slow compared to using a 54-key keyboard.

There is nothing to it. Seems things that people think are "intuitive" rarely seem intuitive to me. That's why I'm not surprised that people find there is a bit of a learning curve to predictive text - I find it entirely intuitive. You just press the keys for the letters you want, then, when you've finished one word, you use the curser key to pick the correct word from a list you are given. If your word is not on the list, just remove the last letter, then look again, etcetera.

"are there any tutorial sites or just simple how to's to T9?"

Almost undoubtedly, your phone comes with a user manual that describes how to use the predictive text. If you don't have the manual, most co's have a web site where you can download it (as a pdf). If you can't find the manual for your phone, you can download the user manual for another phone with predictive text.

I used to use T9 on my old phones. I think it is faster and easier once you get the hang of it. You just hit the proper buttons to spell the word you want, and the more letters you type, the narrower your choices get.

However I have a full keyboard phone now, so I don't have to worry about it.

Haha firstly I was like what in the hang is "multi-tap"? I've never heard it called that.. or well.. ANYTHING before hah!

Im all about the multi-tap. It's just easier to abbreviate things.. (dont worry on msn and the like I don't type like that, just txt.. I have so much to say in such a little space) and pretty much the only time I txt in full words is to my mother!

But she, and several people I know use t9 and think I'm crazy for not using it!

So it's really a personal pref thing!

T9 is not something that seem easy to use but it really is.I mean most who hate it is becoz they are not familiar with how it works.Once someone teaches them, only then would they use and love it.Are there any help sites for this?
