Hi all,

I'm curious if anyone has any thoughts on supplements or foods to increase the intake of for someone who has began to train for endurance events like a 1/2 marathon?

Both my husband and I are on training plans to get us ready to run a 1/2 marathon next year. I'm pretty much coming from the couch, he cycles alot. Aside from mulit vitamins neither of us really consume anything geared at aiding our performance or training recovery----any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks

I wouldn't have thought you needed any supplements - a good balanced diet is going to be the best for you. Not too much protein, plenty of carbs and good amounts of fruit and veg I would say. I have run lots of halfs and a couple of full marathons and haven't taken any supplements that I can think of except maybe a multi vitamin occassionally. As your training increases you just might want to eat more.

good luck with the training.
