We were there sitting and discussing a cartoon illustration in our book. The cartoon was of a peta add saying something like dont eat meat. anyway My professor who is a snoby woman in ym opinion was like "I didnt really want to use this becuase it offends me I love my meat" and the whole class laughed and this arrogant guy, go's "yeah that vegetarian **** gets on ym nerves. what no vegetarians think about vegetables they have feelings too and there a living thing" I rolled my eyes when he said that. I mean c-mom what a lame thing to say. Carnivores wil; say the stupidest things to defend there meat. If I wasnt such a shy person, I would have given him a piece of my mind.

Wow you kept your mouth shut? I would have said something like:

"You know, if you want respect, its good to respect the views of others, even if you dont agree with it. I happen to be a vegetarian."

And if he started asking stupid questions or attacking me I would have simply said "Why do you care what other people do? What does what I eat matter to you?"

I'm more annoyed at your teacher for not discussing the cartoon. Sounds like a real model of critical thinking...
