wiiiise board ..

ive stepped up the sugar amounts lately, as counterproductive as that may sound, for energy. I need more calories but can't fit them in in the form of bread, because im already full of that 24/7. i can't just eat more fruit coz im eating a lot of fibre daily and that'll make it worse and i can't just use more good fats because im over the 80gms a day mark and ill start to feel

any ideas? will the sugar thing hurt me??

i just mean..including a fortified chocolate iron drink thing, cookies, and things like scones.

looking at what you eat in a day, you'll be fine. everything balances out. don't go for pure sugar, though.. add it to things: spread jam on ww toast, make chocolate soymilk, eat soy dream ice cream, stuff like that..

I'd think there's something else wrong if you can't up your good fats or fruit. You should never eat crap food for energy. If you're getting enough of the good stuff, and enough sleep, that should be enough. You could be getting too MUCH of the bread and heavy stuff that's making you sluggish. I'd say less of the cooked, heavy stuff, more fruits & veggies.

thanks to both of you wise words

i feel like crap right now. i do a lot of days actually and thats after eating really well and sleeping really well. its a bizarre exhaustion. its like i haven't eaten enough but i have. it sounds lame..but lately there are whole days when its a struggle to stand up.

and yes, ive been to the doctor but id just had a flu and she said to come back in a few weeks so she can see what responses to tests etc are nonflu related.

which is why ive finally just gone for the sugar, coz eating healthy wasn't making that much of a difference.

im reluctant to assume its calories though, because on average i seem to get 2000 and im extremely inactive , given the above.

i dont know whats going on and i dont know what to do. and now im NOT get ting enough calories coz i just dont know what to eat.

but thanks, as i said, helped a lot!

im averaging 40 gms of fibre a day without relying on a bit of sugar or white product. apparently the maximum is 35. aaa.

i now even include white stuff! and i eat a lot of fat through nuts etc..but they're complete with fibre. i just..cant get enough calories without including 'bad stuff', and i dont even LIKE 'bad stuff" ( i know, its not black and white like that, but for arguements sake and the best health possible lets just say it is, for now..)..

Hi,

If you need extra calories, try including some energy bars in your diet, like Clif or Luna bars. They have a good amount of calories packed in a small amount of food, and have a lot of nutrients as well. They taste great too!!

Don't eat sugar just for the calories, yuck! How about adding healthy organic oil to your food, such as organic virgin coconut oil, or red palm oil, or other quality oils that will give you so much more health benefits than sugar. You are being counterproductive in your approach.

Also, how about organic cacao nibs, they are loaded with health benefits and have calories. How about macadamia nuts. Do the research on your alternatives to sugar!
