Yep, and the syrups are vegan too (at least, here in the UK they are). I adore the starbucks soy vanilla latte

yup. i like doing the frappuccinos w/ soy milk as well. As far as I know (I asked the manager) there is no dairy products in them if you ask for it with soy. But to be safe I only get the coffee flavor. The chocolate/caramel most likely has dairy.

Oh, you bet they do! If you order anything with caramel flavor, make sure you ask for no caramel sauce. The liquid syrup is vegan, but the stuff they drizzle on top has milk. I'm almost positive their mocha drinks are vegan. You can now get vegan frapps too.

This is good to know about the caramel! My understanding was also that the soy mocha is vegan (with no whip of course). That's what I like

The people in the Starbucks in my uni are always insanely helpful and kind about it. Although they do remember me as 'the guy with the really complicated order.' It's not really 'a Starbucks' though, it just sells all their coffee but is run by our union staff.

I'm addicted to their soy mochas... Evil Starbucks, I avoided them for years because generally I prefer to support smaller companies but they are so good, and vegan! I also love the soy mocha frappuccino

Unfortunately, the majority of smaller companies don't do soy/almond/rice/whatever milk for their drinks, unless you're at a veg*n cafe. They fix that, they'll get my business. Until then, giant corporations it is.

So far, I've never been to any place that didn't have soy. I live in the States though, so maybe that's the difference.

It varies here. Some of the local mom and pop places don't but generally smaller local franchises like Bean Around the World will have a variety of non-dairy milks.

I'd go to those places more if it weren't for the convenience issue, Starbucks is everywhere. I literally pass four of them on my way to work every day, while I'd have to go quite a bit out of my way to support a smaller chain. Whatever, I'm not perfect, at least it's vegan

It's true, Starbucks is a lot more convenient usually. There are 2 within 1 mile of my house and 3 within 1/2 mile of my work. I love that you can register their gift cards and get FREE soy milk upgrades every time you use it. Saves me 60 cents every time, other places don't have that and I have to pay 35-60 cents each time. That actually makes Starbucks CHEAPER most of the time.

I didn't know Starbucks offer soy milk. But I'm not a fan of Starbucks because I find their coffee too strong. Do you know if Second Cup has the same soy milk options?

I'd say that's definitely the difference. Most places here don't think about catering for lactose intolerants/vegans.

...so glad that Starbucks was a huge failure here because noone liked it.

It seems a novelty to go to Starbucks... I've never understood the blandness of the whole thing. The coffee is really terrible (if you know what coffee really tastes like!)

However, just from reading this, I'm considering going there for fun and making a complaint to see if they'll send a basket of free stuff. Hmmmm.

I don't know about soy milk but a lot of their ice coffees and chillers are vegan.
I googled it and it looks like its something certain locations offer?

Ooh I do like Starbucks, I like that I KNOW what I can drink there and it's fair lot. Plus they do a vegan sandwich. Even with my gift card, it's more expensive than my local coffee places, but at least Starbucks doesn't serve its coffee at a bajillion degrees.
