Well, Im close. but I realize that doesnt actually count lol. And I fully support all of you who are (especially the vegans!)

The thing is, I dont have the time (or effort really) to check the ingredients in every single thing that I eat. I dont want to have to refuse eating at a restaurant because they dont have vegetarian options, or to offend the boyfriend by not touching an amazing steak that he's cooked. Also, I have to admit I really like non-vegetarian food!

I do, however, try to avoid any sort of meat products whenever possible. For example I'll never buy meat for myself, and if given the choice between meat and anything else I'll 95% of the time pick the vegetarian alternative. I love soy milk and rarely have the regular kind unless it's used in baking. I only buy free-range eggs, I try to choose organic produce, and I'd say that I generally eat pretty healthily.

I belive that anything done in moderation is ok, and I hope that you'll accept my semi-vegetarian ways on your board hehe

Hey, its good you are intrested in Vegetarian meals. I think any way to cut down on meat eating even if it is "some-times" helps. The more you read and learn the more you know, right? Welcome from me!

Welcome! You sound like me about a year or so ago. I knew I wanted to cut back on meat and thought it was the healthiest/best thing to do but I wasn't quite ready to take the plunge. Kinda like a pre-vegetarian.

Welcome aboard!

Non-vegetarian food does taste good to most people; that's probably why so many eat it. But as you become more familiar with vegetarian foods and acquire a taste for them prepared various ways, you won't miss meat, fish, etc.

When people find out I'm vegetarian, so many folks ask me, "What do you eat?" The truth is that if I told them all the options I have, it would take some time and they'd probably get bored. It's easier to be veg than it used to be, although sometimes at a restaurant you don't have very many choices.

Welcome! The stuff like checking labels and asking questions in restaurants seems like a pain at first, but they start to become habits and then you can't imagine not doing those things. Checking labels is really something everyone should do, not just veggies, because everyone should try to avoid nasty stuff like hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, etc. You owe it to yourself!
