Ok, another stupid question. Are there "seeds" to use? You wrote "beans", but you dont just sprout a chickpea bean, do you? I would think that all that soaking would just turn the bean to mush eventually.Originally Posted by karenlovessnow
I don't have a 'sprouter'...I started out using a glass jar. I soak the beans overnight. Then I put a stocking over the top of the jar and drain the water out. Rinse the beans, let sit overnight again, rinse the beans, etc. for 3-4 days or until the beans are sprouted.
Then Jessica Alana mentioned that she keeps hers in a colander and doesn't bother with the jar. You just rinse the beans once or twice a day in the colander (after soaking first overnight). It works perfectly, especially for chickpeas and beans. I never sprouted anything smaller than a lentil, so I'm not sure how it would work for tiny things.
