No actual illnesses have been reported. Dole has issued its bagged spinach recall as a precautionary measure: https://dole.com/Company-Info/Press-Releases/Press-Release-20151013

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control has not issued a food-borne illness outbreak report for this situation. The only recent outbreaks are due to soft cheeses, cucumbers, pork, and chicken: http://www.cdc.gov/foodsafety/outbreaks/

Salmonella only infects animals: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salmonella#Salmonella_as_pathogens . When salmonella is present in plant foods, it is because those foods have been cross-contaminated by animal products.
